2014-12-05:
23 - Conley
14 - Parker
Parker averaged 13.5 ppg in their last four meetings.
Conley averaged 24.8 ppg in their last four meetings.
Joseph scored 18 points tonight which is well above what we expect from Parker in this matchup(based on the last four h2h appearances). Conley going to score no matter who the Spurs throw out there. The true missing piece is Leonard. He's difference maker in this matchup.

Parker pushes back hard on the other end.
If we meet this team with our full complement of players, Parker will help in wearing him out.
Switch Green and Cojo on Conley and he won't have the gas.
He will get his 20 but he will pay defensively. He is the only guy in the Memphis backcourt we need to wear down.

The 1st Qtr hurt us. The Spurs were trailing from there
Defense was bad.
Plus the Spurs were 23% from the arc, which is unusual.
Wish Duncan /Manu didn't play at all.

Cojo is an average, at best, point guard. Probably a 3rd stringer for any NBA team. People like to bash Parker around here but he's still one of the top 5 PGs in the league when healthy...Joseph is probably somewhere around 85 or so.

Cojo is great. As a BACKUP PG. the point is Conley is a beast of a PG and is going to obliterate most PGs out there. At least 1st class PGs like Parker can make him work on D.

I disagree Cojo has been abused the past couple of weeks by not only Conley (32), Lillard (44) and Westbrook (42). His defense is very shaky at best and I agree that you do't have to guard him like you do Parker. So bottom line we miss Parker!!!

ESPN Insider: Top 10 most effective floor-spacers
4. Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies | Respect rating: 87.5
Gravity score: 79.3 | Distraction score: 95.7
Last season rank: 12th
Conley hasn't been named to an All-Star team yet, but that doesn't mean he lacks the respect of his peers. As one of the few Grizzlies boasting a reliable 3-point shot, defenses have keyed in on Conley off the ball more than they did last season. Nonetheless, Conley is shooting a career-high 41.7 percent from deep and leads the Grizzlies in 3-point makes. Defenses beware: Conley shoots "just" 33.3 percent on 3s off Marc Gasol's passes and 46 percent on passes from all others. For a guy who shot 30 percent from deep in college, Conley has blossomed into one of the NBA's most respected point guards.
