I don't know if Harden can bring the Rockets a championship, but one thing I know is that the Rockets are a lot closer with Harden than without.
Thank Presti for gifting us Harden. Without Presti, it would probably take Morey another half decade to acquire a superstar level talent.

Harden is a bearded version of Tony Parker, playoff non-existence tbh. Lockets are pathetic to think they could manage a serious championship push with DH and Harden being their best players, not to mention the addition of Josh Smith who's turned out a negative. The only possibility he makes any difference in the playoffs is if he plays off the bench as 6th man as he did with OKC a couple of years ago imho. If you count on him as your main guy you'll be in trouble come the tough playoff games. Spurs have Manu and several other useful role players on the backcourt who may shine out alternately once in a while, while the Lockets have basically nothing in on the backcourt except Harden and maybe Beverley tbh. Lockets bench is paper thin compared to even the Clippers, and outside of DH and beard nigga the Lockets have nearly zero winning experience in the playoffs. Experience and depth were the two main reasons why the Spurs won last year, but the Lockets lack both which will definitely count against their odd imho.

Harden has really turned it around this year, you can see it on both ends he has really looked to be the leader this season. Its Between him and curry this year imo. Slight edge to harden being that he has done a great job with less of a roster than steph

Durant will get the MVP again by pulling the club back into the thick of things. Hard to be MVP when you have Howard on your team and needed to hire Josh Smith just to be viable in the postseason.

Not sure these are valid reasons against it. Howard missed a month of the season with the team remaining respectable, and Terrance Jones has basically missed most of the year so far. Smith was brought in because they are razor thin at PF. Howard's knees are shot btw.

I definitely hurt your feelings. If you feel so strongly about James Harden being MVP, come back when he wins the award and call me out. Thing is, it isn't going to happen.

MVP is a league MVP, meaning the team couldn't be where it is without him, he's done the most to get his team to where they are. If Durant's return brings them back into the mix, he's going to run away with it like Nash did during his b2b MVP run. He was out part of the season the team tanked. He returned and they surged to the top of the boards. Hard to argue that.
What's going to be a hard sell is trying to keep him from walking with Monty Williams his head coach and Cornerstone his best teammate.
That too, but we've seen guys make bad decisions in the past. I wouldn't be hurt if Davis decided he really likes the Riverwalk.

Harden is MVP, so far, tbh..he has been a top 3 player in the NBA, so far..only Davis and Curry have been on the same level as him IMO..
Doesn't change the fact that his style of play is hideous and he has been a colossal choker as the #1 option of a team, so far..he has time to change that narrative, of course..
He had all last season to change it as well.. Lillard from 3.... BANG!
Kobe Age 25: 24 - 5.5 - 5.1 - 1.7 - 0.4 on 43.8 FG % in 37.6 minutes
Harden Age 25: 27.7 - 6.1 - 6.9 - 1.9 - 1.0 on 44.1 FG% in 37.4 minutes
