Wow, really painful when they flashed the RIP on during the Colts Bengals game. Felt like being punched in the stomach. What a likable guy, Budkin you're right, he was the best, so enjoyable and upbeat, to the bitter end.

RIP, remember him as a kid watching Sports Center with his rap references to plays being made and that stuck out for some reason.

Sad day, indeed. As someone named Scott who has a brother named Stuart, we alway got a kick out of seeing his name flash upon the bottom banner of ESPN. He fought long and hard, so hopefully he has found some peace now. RIP to a sports icon.

Yes, R.I.P. for sure. I'm one of the few people that didn't like his on-air style and catch phrases. But there is no denying he won at life, was a trend setter and pretty much made his mark on the world before he left. You have to respect that. He also took cancer head on and didn't let it beat him. He lived with it and didn't allow it to get the best of him. Its a very sad day indeed and a real loss. The world could use more people like him.

Damn. R.I.P. I grew up watching the guy on Sportscenter and he was easily the best anchor they had. He brought an energy and enthusiasm to the show....

RIP, and way too young, but the dude took the lead in bringing ESPN to the celebrity obsessed, starfucking bowl of shit it is today. I don't understand why people admire what he did. His network is unwatchable and he was among the first.

Sucks. Haven't watch a ton of espn (or TV) since I was a kid, but SS always kept it real. We could use more of him these days, most sports media now are professional trolls, dickriders, or idiot former players.

Unreal to think Scott's last ESPN assignment was presenting the trophy to the Spurs.

I cried all night, watched Rich Eisen's announcement of it, then today watched him give his tribute on NFL network - I thought whoever the hell was in the background (was it Michael Irvin?) was an IDIOT for not shutting up and letting Eisen do what he was doing.

I thought he was just trying to be all healthy and trim, when I saw him so skinny in the NBA Finals. (overdid it, I thought)

Only realised how bad he was when I saw the Espys.

May he rest in peace. I'm in the minority but I didn't care for him as a journalist. Funny how people die and they're suddenly the best ever at their craft. SMH but yes it's a shame he died so young.

Kobe Bryant was quoted today on a radio show saying how Stuart Scott did not want to go to San Antonio He'd rather be in LA. He didn't care for our city.

Irvin never shuts up, he is always hype like he is still using that coke.

I say this with the deepest respect for Stu, but hopefully there isnt a parallel narrative in there for the Spurs.

The finest and most respectable news anchor Sportscenter and ESPN as a whole had. Humble, respectable man who fought cancer head on and lived life 100% despite his cancer. When I heard the news, it felt like a kick in the groin. RIP
