Christ how many times have we been burned at the FT Line over the years.... :lmao

This was one of the most egregious examples, tbh..

Diaw misses 2, Splitter misses 2 and then Mills misses 1..absolutely ridiculous, the game should have been over well before the final play..

And Manu made both :lol

Say they make a majority of those FTA's...Pop deciding to foul would've made sense

Also strange that Pop chose to finally foul while up 3 in the quarter that nobody could hit a FT

On TV, I noticed some dude yelling, just as Spurs players were releasing FT shots. Don't know if that had any effect.

it's one thing if this was an anomaly. this is becoming a fucking trend. get it together. it's infuriating as fuck to watch your team execute and play a game just to lose it on FREE THROWS.

This is the only reason I didn't like the decision to foul up 3.

We're 10th in FT % this season :lol. I'd love to know 4th Quarter/ OT FT% when the game is decided by 5 or fewer points. Has to be be <60%.

Its killed us in atleast 4 losses

I knew that shot was destined to go in as soon as the TO happened. We need to beat them by 25 to avenge this loss

The Marbury game-winner in Game 1 of the playoffs against the Suns also come to mind.

Yup...I was kind of laughing, because I knew this loss was coming well before the end. You don't blow an 18-point lead at home and expect to win.

Cojo also missed 1. The only one that was making them was Ayres. Sooo many opportunities completely thrown away to lose a game by 1 measey little point. :lmao

They're the worst. Sean mentioned it in the closing moments and J.A. Adande posted it as well.

If the Spurs are the the worst in that situation, then they will lose most of their close games. They will not make the playoffs if that continues.

Yep. Missing FT's in infectious. It's a domino effect once one or two of our guys miss a couple chippies. It's going to be a problem going forward if they don't correct it.

I think Green missed two in arow as well. But the inbounds pass to Mills while moving into the teeth of the defense (four players) was simply a bad decision on TD's part. Oh well, shit happens.

The lack of decent free throw shooting is what makes me genuinely pissed. There is simply no excuse for it. This team is supposed to do the 'fundamental things' best, and there is literally nothing in basketball more fundamental than making a blasted free throw.

Free throws, rebounding and turnovers...the most fundamental of all basketball skills...and they were all horrible last night.

The team members and the coaching staff should ALL be ashamed of themselves.

I know some folks say coaches aren't responsible for free throws, but if that is true, then they OUGHT to be responsible for them. This a characteristic of Pop's teams for years now - but hardly ever as universally bad as last night was.

The Pistons guards were nothing in the first half - it was all Drummond on the comeback from 18 down to 9 nine down. But still - being 9 points up at the beginning of the half and then losing at the last second on a combination of missed free throws, fouling the other team and not being able to inbound the damn ball. Pathetic.

This team does not look hungry to me at all. They look quite satisfied. And that includes Pop.

Agree ft shooting is terrible during crunch time. What's up with Chip, Is he coasting too?

Making FTs and boxing out are two of the most fundamental things in basketball. There is no excuse for not being able to do those things. We suck at both this year and our record reflects it. Those two things also cost us a title.
