Wilson's rookie contract runs through the 2015 season, but the organization intends to take care of him this year rather than next.

I think he should be the highest paid player on the team, but to make him the highest player in the league is questionable when it's not proven he can do for his team what the elite QBs like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees have done in the past few seasons which is carry bottom 5 defenses to 12-13 win seasons and playoff/Super Bowl runs. Wilson has played on a defense which has been 1st, 1st, and 1st the past 3 seasons. To be fair, the Hawks offense has been 6th, 3rd, and 9th the past 3 seasons in points per possession so they are getting the job done. I think he should get close to top 5 money, but not the most.
