Cowboys are the NBA equivalent of the lakers yet spurs fans will eat whatever crap that comes out of Jerry jones' mouth. What gives?

Lived in Texas all my life.
Hate them passionately.
But they made a huge improvement this year. Ya gotta see that.
So the guys that step off and back on the wagon playing music are back on.
I also believe the Spurs are some what of antithesis of the Cowboys. But regional love runs deep. The Cowboys do a great job of playing to the past. Liverpool is how I sorta see it. Handed down from the old man who remembers Staubach or Aikman and the Line.

That's like saying why don't people cheer for the Clippers..
Some fans grew up hearing dallas this and that...It's natural to be fans of teams you hear the most about.

Seriously????? The Texans????? Give me a break. The only other Texas team that I acknowledge is the Oilers....but their owner was such a dick, he couldn't even let that team name stay in Houston. I like the Texans....I guess, but like you guys said.......grandpa, dad, uncle Jim, uncle Joe....all cowboys fans. The team I grew up with in the eighties sucked, but we stuck with them and our loyalty was rewarded in the nineties. I don't switch teams based on the player, like all these new aged fans. That's stupid. Keep it simple.......spurs/cowboys...nuff said

It won't be happening in most of our lifetimes.

half will become fans of the new team and half will stay cowboys fan. alot of people here have been cowboys fan for decades and seen them win titles. They aren't exactly moving to a new team. Kinda what spike said about the nets when they moved.

Lived in San Antonio my while life. I'm shocked I never cheered for the Cowboys as I grew up in the 90's, but just never fell in love with them when my dad would dress me up with Cowboys gear. My mom is a Redskins fan because her high school football team is the skins mascot. If SA would ever get the Raiders, or a expansion team I would definitely cheer for them. I hate all the teams in Houston so I never thought about cheering for the Texans.

Former Cowboys owner Clint Murchison was complicit in the murder of JFK in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Since I learned this, I no longer back the Cowboys.

why so much hate on the cowboys.....cowboys had a pretty good season.....atleast they won a play off game...and had the chance to win against the packers if it wasn't for a bs call by the refs.....either way I enjoyed the season....who would of thought the cowboys would had mad it this far......

I am not from Texas, so I don't have this kind of problem.
I was a BB fan way before than a football fan. As a Spurs fan it's impossible to cheer for a team called DALLAS Cowboys or HOUSTON Texans.
I chose the Ravens and I plan to stick with them my entire life, even if a SA football team is created.

Fuck the Cowboys and fuck the NFL. Fuck football, for that matter. Don't know how anyone can stand watching that shitty excuse for a sport. Bunch of losers who love watching commercials, and referees reviewing plays for violations of rules that no one fucking understands.
It's a Texas thing. Plus there was only one team in Texas from 1996 to 2002.
Oilers had a decent following in SA. I still remember that amazing Warren Moon comeback game against the Bills.

I have never liked the Cowboys. As a matter of fact I chose my favorite football team, (49'ers) because they were the first team I saw beat the dog shit out of the Cowboys.

Im a fan mainly cuz they were the only Texas team around when I was a little kid (got to go for my home state team). Plus my parents are also fans so I was sort of born into it, tbh.

San Antonio is home, and I'm all 'bout the hometown team.

Because most Spurs fans are Mexican. Mexicans/blacks usually root for popular teams like the Cowboys/Lakers/Yankees. No trying to be racist, just honest. Why do you think the cheers are so loud when the Lakers come to SA?:lol Just ask DoK...he's said repeatedly that almost all the Mexican people in Phoenix are Cowboys and Lakers fans. They could give a shit about the Suns/Cards.

Always been a fan, and its always bothered me when people learn that and talk shit to me about the Cowboys for no reason. Whoa whoa whoa why you gotta be stereotyping ese? But seriously, that was pretty fucked up :lol. For one I'm Mexican and I hate the shit out of the Lakers AND the bitch ass Yankees. I love the Spurs because I live 2 1/2 hours away from SA and I just grew up watching them. The Cowboys are my football team mainly because of my pops and the fact that the logo/colors and the team was pretty damn awesome when I was about 5-8 years old during their prime 90's run. Never had a connection to the city of Houston at all, no team ever appealed to me. Fuck the Rockets, Texans, Oilers, etc...:lol

There's always exceptions, tbh...and props for being one...but seriously, if I had a dollar for every black/Mexican I met that was a popular team bandwagoner I'd be retired.:lol Mexicans in the SA area don't count, obviously...but there are plenty of Lakers bandwangoners there...I mean fuck...don't you remember all the cheers when the Spurs lost to the Lakers earlier this year?
Actually, since the Lakers have slid all those blacks became Miami fans. They will all be Laker fans again eventually though.

I was raised a Spurs fan growing up in San Antonio. I was born in 91 and my first memories as a fan were from Duncan's sophomore year. I wanna say that was the year of the Memorial Day Miracle, I wanna say that's my first memory as a Spurs fan. On the other hand my dad lived/lives in Dallas and was a big Cowboys fan, my mom's side of the family were as well. Houston didn't have a team at the time (and as a Spurs/Rangers fan I would never support Houston sports anyways,) so I naturally became a huge Cowboys fan. I think the term bandwagon is used very loosely. A bandwagon fan isn't someone who chooses a team like the Cowboys and loves them or only cheers for them when they're winning. A bandwagon fan is the type of person who has a different team every couple of years and usually follows players and not teams. I've known kids like this and none of them either liked the Cowboys. I don't think the Cowboys have a lot of bandwagon fans bc they're either loved or hated. I've never met anyone who was indifferent about them.

There must be like 6 minutes of actual play :lmao
The rest is commercials, ass tapping, crotch scratching, fat linesmen moving around trying to hide their fatness, dancing, etc :lol

like many have said. Cowboys were the only team in Texas for a while and during that time they were winning championships so it was an easy team to like...
PLUS i dont think anyone has mentioned that they would hold training camp in San Antonio to get the entire san antonio fanbase. Jerry Jones is a smart man.

:lol Because there's no NFL team in SA, the Cowboys were successful in the 90s, there is only one other team in Texas, and it was founded in 2000, so they have a much smaller fanbase.
You really couldn't piece that together?
Cowboys are more like the Knicks of the NFL.
Not quite. The Cowboys won 3 titles in the 90s. The Knicks haven't won a title since 1973. :lol
