View Full Version : Nets fire sale

Looks like with the team getting sold, they also have a fire sale of their players, trying to shed as much lux tax as possible. Apparently everybody is available.

What piece could the Spurs pick up from there? I was thinking Bogdanovic, a combo SG/SF... he does have a 4 year deal, but he's young (25)... Croatian, so Pop should be happy.

Who else? Teletovic?

Teletubby would be good as a backup to Charmin Soft Splitter

Apparently, not final yet though

Thunder only would give up Lamb. WTF!!

Wait, did they give anybody up for Waiters?

To get Waiters and Lopez, they would give up Thomas, Lamb, Perkins and a pick. Dion was probably a mistake, but that's still a nice haul. The Spurs' window to do such trades passed two summers ago when Bonner's deal became guaranteed.

Thread title should say "New York fire sale". No one is safe on both of those teams.

Sure, I'd trade Bonner for the Net's locker room Television set, why not? Is it 4K?

Spurs will pick up nothing from the fire sale but others will get richer off of it around them unfortunately.

I'll be way more concerned with OKC if they traded for a solid perimeter defender (ie: Afflalo).... Lopez doesn't do anything for them, IMO.

How would the Lopez for Lamb/Perk work? (Is Perk really included? Thought OKC loved his "intangibles") Lopez makes $15.7 this year, Lamb/Perk combined make $11.3. Is a pick worth that much? Or is there a trade exception?

Lopez could be problamatic, but seems like every season ends with a major injury and surgery.

No :lol

How many more players that can't create their own shot do we need? Plus, Teletovic has been garbage ever since he played SA, they've been giving Cory Jefferson minutes (no surprise)

Hopefully Reggie Jackson is part of the trade this time. But the proposed trade says he isn't.

:cry But Lopez made the all star team one season and Waiters was the 4th pick of the draft so that means they're upgrades.

We don't really need to pick anybody from there... i'd love to take a flyer on Joe Johnson, but ugh, that contract

There is a reason the Nets suck. Shhh it's their players. Brooks is good, but is Yao- like injury prone. It's never a matter of if for him...its when is he going to get his annual broken foot.

Nets will prioritize offloading their bad contracts first(Johnson, DWill, Lopez). Bogdanovic and Teletovic are both young and on relatively cheap deals - doubt the Nets move them.

Spurs desperately need a backup SF, someone with 3 & D, decent size. Marco isn't going to cut it in the playoffs.

btw Brook will get worked in the West, tons of big men and talented teams, no way he stays healthy.

That roster is terrible, including their big-name guys, tbh..

ISO-Joe could still be a nice 6th man or masked starter, though..

I didn't say that was a bad thing though! They are great when healthy but these threads saying ? after a name you know don't even need to be made because that is not how the Spurs move and that is hardly ever how they moved. They will not get a thing at the deadline or some minor deal and like it! They are winners and have been great for years without picking up names at the deadline and most get upset but they keep winning! I should not have put unfortunately, meant the other teams will get better unfortunately not necessarily the Spurs missing out on a trade or a pickup.

Lopez is very moveable for them now since Plumlee is flat out playing ball so yeah bad contracts first and I think they will get off a few of those (JJ will be tough though).

OKC seems to be swinging for the fences. I really think they're worried KD's leaving after next year.

Teletovic couldn't miss in our loss in Brooklyn. But not sure that should fool us - he's a 35% career 3pt guy.

Shows you how crappy the Russian economy is. Owner can't write blank checks anymore for luxury tax on top of having to sell team.

I like Teletovic, a team player with solid fundamentals, can hit timely shots, a stretch four in spurs system. Not sure how spurs could get him, though

Teletovic is Spurs material. Coming for Tau Vitoria, as Splitter and Scola.

Teletovic is expiring, so pick and matching salaries should do the trick, but doubt Spurs will trade 4 guys for him, and Nets would accept it.
