He has mostly been a defensive liability which is a bad thing for the big nearest the basket so if he'll become an element which in any way minimize the chances of the best (kind of scary at its rare best) OKC-defense ever re-appearing, then we can have no complaints.

He's definitely an upgrade over Perkins. The Thunder desperately needs inside scoring and that's the one thing Lopez can bring them.

downgrade on D but definitely going to give KD, Russ, and Waiters the green light to shoot from deep

Yes a big upgrade over Perkins which is good for them. They get better.

I actually support this. I think this impacts their team chemistry this year and could result in them losing a few extra games and missing the playoffs. Really if Lopez's foot flairs up.

I think it makes them a lot more deadly next season but who cares if we repeat

Let's see if he gets enough touches with Isoballers KD and Russell, and with that shitty coach Brooks

It seems like every god damn team but the Spurs makes a move to improve.

The teams usually give up next to nothing to acquire these slobs too.

Lopez really doesn't fit their aggressively trapping P&R defense but he would help their bench scoring a lot. I wonder if OKC is going to give up Reggie Jackson.

I don't know how the Thunder can hold up without Kendrick Perkins

Did some of you already forget Lopez was averaging 21, 6, & 2 just last year before he went down? :lol
Good luck to our bench on trying to outplay Bobby Shmurda, Lopez, Morrow & Waiters. Splitter better come off the bench from Game 1 if they meet, but it's unlikely since it usually takes Pop 3 games to adapt.

We dont need to make a move

And we are not in a position to bring in a significant player anyway

Only for Lamb and Perkins, I'd say it's a good gamble, even considering his healthy issues. Perkins sucks and Lamb has showed nothing so far. Lopez is a very good post player and that's something OKC lacks.

Good move for the Thunder. They get rid of Perkin's bad contract and get a low post scorer. They already have a great helpside defender in Ibaka as well.

is Lopez that good of a post player? otherwise I don't see him fitting with Ibaka who is now mainly a midrange shooting big.

I do see Lopez next to GOAT Steven Adams. Maybe they are shopping Ibaka???

May not be a huge grab, but it's definitely an upgrade over Perkins, especially if that's all they're giving up. Basically a salary dump for the Nets.

salary dump. Can't get better value for him later on in the season. Lamb's career is clutching on straws and a change of address might do him some good. Can't believe they're actually shipping Lopez out but heck, seems like talks are serious.

Hope it happens. If he takes minutes away from Adams that's good news for the Spurs. Adams' length gives Timmy trouble on D and he always seems to destroy the Spurs on the offensive glass. Lopez is a soft rebounder (lol 6 rpg) and defender. He can put the ball in the bucket but there's only so many touches to go around with Russ and KD on the team. His situation as the third wheel would probably be similar to Love's on the Cavs which isn't working out that well.

:lol Come on, shortbus. Nobody in their right mind would give up Abaka for Lopez.

Scoring points + being White = hype, tbh..

We'll just ignore that he's one of the worst defensive bigs in the NBA and one of the worst rebounding big men in the history of the league..he also plays slow-paced basketball that doesn't translate to today's league..

Green.

Dan McCarney:

Green on recent flurry of West moves: "We know they're changing (their teams). It's still up for debate if they're improving them." Snap.

guy can score though, I'll give him that. Solid post footwork, has good range within 15 feet. If Ibaka has a nonexistent post game Lopez fills the need on that end. If teams end up double-teaming this guy Durant, Westbrook, Morrow, and Waiters can easily light it up. Ibaka also developed his range so they can go with a line-up that spreads the floor effectively, with Lopez acting as an anchor inside. Ibaka can easily make up for Lopez's defensive lapses and the team is mostly long enough to make up for Lopez's lack of rebounding. He's not a bad help defender too. Can just switch him out for Adams on defensive possessions.

Green.

Dan McCarney:
well...the Mavs and Rockets are higher up on the standings than the Spurs so I wouldn't be so easy to dismiss these moves as having a negative impact on their respective teams. The Spurs always have the crutch that they haven't been playing healthy this season.

If they are basically giving away Lopez for nothing why not send them Daye, Ayers (and Belli if necessary) for him? That is way more than old man Perkins, I realize the Nets are getting what they are getting from the third team in these proposed trades so why not let the Spurs do the same as OKC? As bad as Daye and Ayers are they have more to offer than Perkins. I know that there might be cap issues, but the Thunderefs are no more anxious to play with the luxury tax than the Spurs are.

A great trade for OKC this would be the equivalent to the Gasol trade. If OKC can get into the playoffs they can definitely create a lot of noise if this trade goes down.

Thats the bad Lopez, always injured and adds nothing to the game but thats not a surprise since he always was and has been shiet.

The Spurs should enter the talks if nothing else to drive up the price and force the Thunder to give up something of value. (Like the Red Sox used to make the Yankees over pay for talent after a bidding war)

If OKC gets lopez, I think it be easier to get into the paint. Lopez is slow on his feet. He can't defend the pnr.

Agreed. However, he's been a bit injury prone with his foot injuries the last couple of years.
