View Full Version : No threads for Luck's shitty game?

Are we just gna sit here and act like he hasn't been eerily similar to Peyton Manning in that his balls shrivel in Foxborough?

Wilson played a fucking horrendous game, and deservedly, he got slammed here. Luck played like pure garbage, but nary a peep.

Did Luck suck the rest of the way?

Obviously he faced tougher circumstances... he was on the road and against an elite D, not trying to spin it. I've firmly been on the Luck >> Wilson campaign and still obviously am. Just find it inconsistent.

Wilson is only getting slammed as a measure to counter-balance all of the credit he's getting from the mainstream media for his resilience and leadership, no one would otherwise give a shit about how good/bad of a game he's having. The issue people have is with how much stardom the media has manufactured for Wilson.

Luck definitely missed some throws and had a few gross picks that didn't matter since the game was already over, but when the game was within reach, Luck was under pressure and had nowhere to go with the ball.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger coaching disparity in a single game. McDaniels was pulling out all the tricks in the book (like a TD pass to Nate Solder) which had the Colts' D mindfucked, while the Colts' game plan was essentially for Luck to carry everyone on offense.

when blount runs for 150 and 3td in his sleep, it's safe to say it's not lucks fault that they lost. When wilson throws 4 horrendous picks in game where rodgers has more picks than tds, it's safe to blame wilson.

i know it wasn't the case in the game, but lets say the Colts D made some monster plays and got them within striking distance... if Luck ended up winning the game in the same manner Wilson did after a horrid start, you'd all be on his nuts for his :cry grit and toughness :cry

you just gave Luck a mulligan because Blount had a huge game. i don't think that's right. he deserves a fair share of criticism for shrinking in the moment, because elite QB's have shown they can overcome all that. with the way Luck played today, the Colts weren't winning regardless of if Blount had 150 or 15 yards

Despite Luck's shitty game the prevailing thought is still that he would be in the Super Bowl right now if his defense didn't allow every running back in the league to become Adrian Peterson for a day.

Colts desperately need to go back to the 4-3 defense. They're putting too many down linemen in linebacker roles and it fucking shows. Mathis and Werner are DE's not LB's.

I thought he was crappy in the first half. Pressure got to him and he missed throws. There were drops too. He did hit some nice passes, but he missed alot of throws too. Wouldn't have made much of a difference in general since the defense got destroyed.

I will say this. I can see why people think he has a ton of potential, but he's got a long way to go to be that franchise QB that can carry teams a long way like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees have, especially teams with bottom 5 defenses. His arm strength is good, but not great, and he makes too many turnovers.

Probably worse in the 2nd, but it wouldn't have mattered. Pats did whatever they want offensively. He would have had to have been flawless. If the game was closer, then he would have deserved a big share of the blame. But really, its pointless to single him out for this loss.

Wilson played a garbage game, and in just about every alternate universe, he cost them the chance to go to a superbowl. I won't be caught saying otherwise.

I'm just pointing out that this forum is very quick to criticize certain quarterbacks while others (particularly Luck) are largely immune from criticism. Luck played about as poorly as Wilson did. He was in a tougher environment against a better team, but he also should be held up to the standards of an elite QB who actually has good pieces in the passing game.

You could surely say "the Colts werent going to win anyway based on how poor their defense was" but then I could easily say "no matter how well their defense played, they weren't going to win with how poorly Luck played"
