I mentioned this at a business breakfast conference a few weeks back to a visiting American businessman and his reply was that the usa did not need the world to like them. This was potentially indicative of one of the problems with tea party repugs, of which he was a member, the desire to 'win' and get rid of Obama has blinded them to the world in which they live. After all it is a curious thing to travel around the world to do business and then say you don't need the world!
