View Full Version : Will Manu ever hit 7-7 from the FT line in a single game again?

Even Baynes is shooting FT's better than Manu this season. He also seems pretty rattled by them when he misses and have been asking for the officials to give him more time yet no improvement whatsoever

I'm gonna go with No on this one at this stage of his career on the rationale that if he's spending so much energy to drive and get to the line, he's bound to miss some.
Why does he suck so much at free throws now? They take no athletic ability to shoot. It should be the one part of Ginobili's game that shouldn't be diminishing. Probably still suffering from the psychological scars of Game 6.

Interesting he did go 7-7 against the Hawks this season, but 7 FTA was his max this season so far (6 times).
Last season, he did it against Portland...

As you age, your heart takes longer to return to its resting rate. So, his pulse rate from the in-game play will be higher when he's at the line. Not sure if that pounding pulse can unsteady a shot or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I thought it's mostly legs. You can tell he doesn't have the lift or legs he had in the past. His 2pt % is also the 2nd worst in his career at the moment, that's why he's been putting the onus more on playmaking.

To me this is very frustrating I can't even imagine what he is going through. In 08-10 there were multiple stretches of more than 20 str8 FT's hit without a miss :depressed

1) no legs in the first ftmiss like Nono said
2) he's running back to defense on the 2nd fta

If it's age, then how does it explain Nash's FT% still being great as he aged before he became a cripple? Shit, last year, he still shot 91% from the line in his limited action.

Minutes played last season:
Steve Nash = 313
Ginobili = 1550
Just saying...

Lmao didn't know that, thanks
I'd say yes. 10/10? 12/12? Nope 7/7 is low enough though, for his low minute count.
Was looking at his stats to see what he was shooting this year(73%) and I was shocked to see that he's never shot 90% from the line on a single season.

In 12 years, Manu shot below 80 % from the free throw line four times, counting this season. Right now he is at 73.7 %, a career low only matched in his rookie campaign. The other two below 80 %, were 78 and 79 %. From 2006 to 2012, he had 6 straight seasons of 86-87 %. I guess itīs old age and the fact that Ginobili is streaky as hell as a shooter. The guy īs been pro for almost 20 years, plus the games with our National Team. He should be retired by now, Pop minutes management did wonders and really extended his career well above our expectations.

It's Doubtful. He sucks from the line. I've got little faith. Tony is having troubles too. This team needs to unfuck itself from the FT line.
