View Full Version : Timmy going to the All-Star game?

Aldridge is out for 6-8 weeks so the odds of Timmy making it now are quite high? Yes or no?

It would tie him with Malone for the 3rd oldest player to ever get selected. With Kareem and Jordan being 1 and 2.

Please no.

Let him stay home with the kids.

The National Media have been on the "Kawhi is the spurs best player" bandwagon..

he's not going to make it over his own teammate kawhi Leonard specially after a poor performance on National TV.

He probably deserves it for still being ultra efficient at his age but better to just stay at home and rest

Oh Jesus Christ, they are not even competing for the same position.
Let all our guys stay home, the game is a joke, it's horrible.

So you want KL to replace Aldridge? You want him to risk a hand injury in a game that does absolutely nothing to our record?

Fck it. Let all our players stay home.
Why do I even bother with you?

He should go, just so he can at least have one game this season with an above average PG next to him...

Even if he goes he will probably just play 2-3 mins and run down the court 4-5 times and call it a night.

Ya but its still the plane flights, suiting up, warm ups, getting nauseated watching Kirby etc.
All Star Game is a joke. Not befitting of Timmy Dunks.
Agree with the "stay home and rest" posters.

How far is Kawhi's dick in your mouth. Are you secretly his mom or his girlfriend. Its a 50-50 shot he gets in because he missed a lot of games. Duncan has a chance to get in over him simply because he played in the most spur games so far this season and granted the spurs were .500 without Kawhi; Duncan was the reason why the spurs didn't fall below .500 in his absence. You can make an argument for either one being worthy to get in.

he should make it, it's also the last chance to see him there.

Obviously, timmy has a good chance to make his 15th time All Star apperance with Lamarcus Aldridge's sidelne. The whole world agrees on picking James Harden, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Lamarcus Aldridge and Demarcus Cousins to the West All Star Reserves.

The remaining 2 positions will be fought by Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki, Russel Westbrook , Kevin Durant as well as Timmy Duncan,

I don't want any Spurs to go, not to the game not to any of the silly competitions(3pt, skills, slam dunk lol). Stay home rest and get focused for the second half of the season and playoffs.

Nice that he is getting recognition but I hope he doesn't make it unless he's guaranteed no more than a minute of playing time. :lol

Some CBS experts picked only Duncan from the San Antonio Spurs team as probable reserve.
They are the reigning champs. And Aldridge's injury will increase his chances of getting an invite.
He will be there.

Well Kerr is going to be the coach and given his respect for Pop and the Spurs, I'm sure he'd be very accommodating about giving Duncan as few or as many minutes as Duncan wanted.

BTW, I really hope he makes it. The all-star break is a week long this year and it's a well deserved accomplishment for Duncan. All-Star at age 38! Not many have done that.

I think Timmy and Pop would disagree with you. The ASG is one event way from a 3 ring circus.

Meh Spurs fans can say all star accolades don't matter all they want but to the majority of causal NBA fans, the number of all star appearance is still a deciding factor in a player's legacy. Should be a good thing if Duncan makes it to the game. This might be his last year, let him play with the NBA's elite one more time. And isn't the all star break now one week? Playing 15 minutes during a one week break isn't going to kill him.

Who will pick the replacement for Kobe?

Commissioner or Kerr?

Russ

Duncan not being selected last year was a great blunder by the NBA. The league knows it, Duncan knows, Pop, everyone. They all have their own reasons for not acknowledging the elephant in the room.

Duncan is way too proud to complain. But don't believe for a minute that the was glad just to take the weekend off. Duncan knows the history of the NBA way more than most payers and he cares about his place in it.

The All Star Game is a joke but making the All Star team matters. People seem to confuse the two.

Honestly just curious, what makes you think Pop would not rather he avoid injury in a meaningless game or that Tim would not rather spend the extra time with his kids?

I remember Tim taking his daughter to a game (before his son was born) and talking about how cool it was that his daughter could see her dad's picture on the side of a building.

So, as much as his public persona is "I don't care about any of this", I think he cares greatly and is aware of his legacy, and I think he would like to take his two children to see him in what I expect is his last All Star game.
