Almost gave the lakers a chance...

Brutal predictable offense.

Parker 14 shots in barely 20 minuts..Most of them in the third.

johnnyringo

Get your ass in here and roast these parker fans..

SMH at stat padding.

Leonard asked for the ball numeous times with Ryan Kelly and Swaggy P on him..But isntead the lakers beat the spurs in the third.

The only thing Pop xan do is have Leoanrd play minutes without Parker...Otherwise, this guy thinks he's still a star..wow. Talk about detrimental to the team.

Parker was doing his usual dribble dribble dribble..

Tony took 14 shots in only 23 minutes, Tim 9 in 20' and Kawhi just 12 in 33'.

If Parker plays +30' he would take 20 shots...and Tim 15/Leonard still only 12.

Tony playing in the way like a 20-attempts-per-game-guy is one of the reason of the unbalanced and predictable offense against really good teams.

at the 7.29 mark in second tp made
Tony Parker makes a 20-foot pullup jumper from the right wing

therefore tp could not have taken 7 shots in the 3 quarter

Yup..

He took half his shots in the third and the lakers beat the spurs 23-20..

Well, I don't focus on Leonard, because could be him or Tim or Manu, Danny, Patty, anyone of them... But the Spurs offense of last playoffs two series would have worked with a player taking + 20 attempts per game?

When the Big 3 guys were the most dominant players in the league, sure, they could play that way but now, the effective team oriented offense of last year is not sustainable with Tony's shooting numbers.

Sadly, one of the reason of that "beautiful basketball" in the Finals, was Tony's injury that limited him and allowed to see a more distributed offense than Parker's centric offense

Yeah you are right on that, Parker has not been good this year overall and I want him to play alot better. I agree on Kawhi as well with what you said. Gino running PG at the end of the game is a disaster alot of times though, he will do some silly turnover when he is put in that role or be too gassed and shoot some horrible shots! Mills I agree on but at this point in his career I don't want to see Gino get too much time at the PG late in games sides in special situations. As long as we win though, agreed.

OP destroyed by facts...

Definition of a player fan: Someone who watches his favorite team play and actively roots against one of his own in hopes that his own personal favorite will have better stats that game.

Parker has good numbers, and OP starts a thread about what a nice guy/glue guy Patty Mills is!

It's a good start, make threads about players who never get enough credit for their good things instead of making hate threads.

All these years our attention has been focused on the Big 3 -and for good reasons obviously-, but it's time to show love to the "other guys".

Against Bucks if Tony plays good I want a thread about Green's blocks or Tiago's screens, and the next time another about Boris' playmaker skills...

Like I said before, Patty tries to build a good locker room climate and those things are underrated, it was very nice to have an opportunity to talk about that.

That's why I expect more Patty/Danny/Boris/Tiago/Cory, every appreciation thread OP -and other guys- can think of, all here on ST, the next time that Tony has a good game.

I don't think you see the whole picture. The OP tried to post that Parker was a ballhog in the third quarter, was proven wrong by another poster, and then, disappointed that he couldn't say anything bad about Parker, posted, after a mediocre gane by Mills, a thread about Mills
being a good teammate, which everyone knows is the case. It's just a transparent thread to avoid saying Kawhi & Tony played well together and got the win.

I stopped to analyze posters try to do or their intentions a long time ago. I read what I like read here, and just see the opportunity to talk about a player who doesn't get attention for his good things.

Objectively speaking, how good it can be if people take the opportunities to show love to other players when Tony plays good?

This pretty much...

My beef with the OP is that the guy just doesn't get it. He puts "I hate player fans" under his name...which is basically telling me he hates himself. He watches Spurs' games with the intention of pulling against one of his own. Did TP do some over-dribbling last night? Yes...of course he did. Did TP have some nice drive and kick to wide open players? Of course he did. We're a much better team with TP playing well....and every Spurs fan should hope he gets it going again. The same with Manu and Kawhi.

What made the Spurs so great last year was you never knew who was going to lead the team in points that night. It could come from Timmy, Tony, Manu, Kawhi, Green, Mills,....hell even Beli, Splitter, and Baynes led the team some nights.

Having Kawhi score 30 points every night (the OP is fapping to even the idea of this) is not the answer. His shots would increase...the ball would stop...and I would feel like I'm watching Kirby.

This is actually a pretty good description of what happens. Thanks.

How can you agree with what he said?

He said "we're a much better team with Enrique playing well", OF COURSE WE ARE. We're also a better team with Manu playing well, TD playing well, Kawhi playing well, we're better with any Spurs player playing well. The point here is that TP IS NOT PLAYING WELL and he's not injured, he's on decline. Also he's being overpaid this season and he will be overpaid probably next 2/3 seasons.

Plus, when tony is playing well it is at the expense of others...

Just look at third quarter against the lakers..Tony scored well but the spurs ended up losing the quarter..

coincidence? I think not.

Also I realize most people think kawhi is already the best player, the problem is that Tony doesn't think the same way...

Do you think waiving Tony right now would make the Spurs a better team?

OP is a troll... not even sure he actually believes 10% of his own stuff, most likely a HH's troll. If OP was posting at the same pace since 2008 he would have 80,000 posts by now... sleeping troll woke up to feed an agenda :lol

there is no logic to expect from his posts... he basically copy paste the "antiquated" "big 3 fans" "I hate players fans" none of this shit is his..

Well, if you pay attention to what he said and what you are saying, YOU are agreeing with him too. All he said (with which you agreed) is that we are a better team with TP playing well, with Manu playing well, and with Kawhi playing well.

That is the same as what you said up until the point where you said your bit about TP being on decline, overpaid, etc. etc.

So it is really quite reasonable for me to be able to agree with someone who says simply that we are a better team when our players play well. If you want to take that emphatically vanilla sentiment and turn it into a rant against a particular player, that is your business and your right.

But it doesn't make me agree with Silver&Black's sentiments any less. Even YOU agreed with most of what he said. You just don't agree, apparently, that TP can ever play well again or at a level that you think warrants his salary. The FO disagrees with you about Tony. I don't know if Tony will ever be as good as he once was. But I DO know that we will be a better team if he is.

And I will be happy when TP. Kawhi, Manu, Patty, Splitter, TD, Diaw, Green (s), Cojo Bonner and Marco all play well.
