McCarthy is gonna suck ass like everything post Bridesmaids. Wiig is kinda meh. Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are the best ones they got tbh. McKinnon is fucking brilliant and a complete natural. The reality is that there is no one that can fill the shoes of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in carrying a comedy today. Those guys were already major stars when the did GB. The studio probably knows there isn't anybody out there that can carry what is bound to be a shitty script. Or anyone that is even willing to do it. So...just save some money and pay those 4 chicks and crank out some cheap lame piece of shit and hope to get enough suckers in the first couple of weeks to payback the cost.

And didn't they basically already remake Ghostbusters with RIPD? and even MIB really.

They only way that a new GB might be funny would be to do it as a stoner film with Rogan, Hill, Franco, et al. Give it an R rating and let them say "what the fuck" and all that. It would still pale in comparison to the original but it might have some laughs.

It's easy to reboot--it's filler among the 3-5 really great movies that come out each year. Keeps the majority of Americans occupied and revenues streaming. Fuck with quality 90% of the time. In the few things I've seen get in, i agree with the McKinnon take. I've always been a fan of Wiig. McCarthy is awful.
