The Orlando Magic are close to firing coach Jacque Vaughn and a change could come soon, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

As embarrassing losses accumulate, Vaughn is rapidly running out of time to show the progress needed to make it through the next several days – never mind the fourth and final year of his contract in 2015-16, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

“It isn’t a matter of ‘if,’ anymore, but ‘when,' ” a source close to the decision-making process told Yahoo Sports about Vaughn’s fading job security.

Vaughn is bad, but it's not like the Magic has a lot of talent.

Same could be said of Lakers. Hope the coaching change pushes them ahead of us.
Bulls win last night was costly hope they make a change or that the rumors help the Magic beat us next week

Poor Jacque. Should have stayed a couple more years as an assistant, but it's totally understandable to grab an opportunity like he did. Hasn't worked for him, the Magic are a mess, but they've got lots of young talent. They should have traded for a couple of vets to help, as they'd find it difficult to hold onto all of the young guys anyway.

Haven't watched them to have an opinion of this.

This . they have more talent than the Lakers right now ...but no vets to lead them teach them. Plus an inexperienced head coach.

They did sign two vets Ben Gordon and Channing Frye. Overpayed both of them. Vaughn is just not a good coach. Magic have enough talent to be a .500 team in the east. Not all his fault, but he is part of the problem.

Those are vets I guess but usually when you say sign vets I meant more like if they had lured VC to come to Orlando something like that. Gordon and Frye are not known as good mentors ...while Cubes and Rc raved about Vince here in DFW.

Wasn't this nig not even a full assistant with the Spurms? He just kinda sat behind the bench but wasn't part of the coaching staff?

Don't they already have three coaches under contract?

Uh?

Based on the roster, I am not expecting the Magic to fight for a playoff spot, even in the East. So having Vaughn for the race the bottom is actually great.
