Only in a player's life.

Word has it that Stephen Jackson was set to be married last Saturday, but cancelled the wedding after his fianceé Imani Showalter refused to sign a prenuptial agreement.

"She was ready to walk the aisle and everything and he stopped it," our TPL spy said. "To make it worse, his family (including mom, aunt and cousins) cheered when the wedding director came out and said there was not going to be a wedding. He spent a nice penny on that too not to get married."

Stephon Marbury, Mike Bibby, Malik Rose and Steve Smith were all there to witness the non-nuptials.

I wouldn't get married period if I was an NBA Player, but especially not to some chick who refused a pre-nup. Good move, Buckets.

Why would he wait until the wedding day for her to sign a pre-nup?

P.S.

I used to live in the townhouse across for Stephen Jackson and the guy brought home three chicks per night. And every night, it was three different ones.

if I'm the girl despite the non-nuptials, I'd cry :alleluyah!

BTW, were Tim & Bruce invited? I'd like to hear post non-nuptial on this. This is funny. :lmao

It is kind of dumb, but I would think he has been asking her for some time and thought maybe she'd change her mind when the time came to the wedding. Obviously she didn't. Its not a good reason, but that's what I think. Maybe he said to himself, "when she sees all that this (the wedding) and see that I'm serious, she'll change her mind."
This doesn't surprise me though. He isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.

That was probably one of the smartest things he ever did.

Seriously, a marriage is a legally binding CONTRACT. Especially considering the divorce rate these days, you would not transact a multi-million dollar contract without some legal protection, would you?

He's smart enough not to lose his money. She never made a single jump shot, but she would get 1/2 of all his jack if they got divorced in a few months. She's the idiot. If she wasn't after the $$$, she should have signed a pre-nup that was void if he cheated.

He's smart to want a pre-nup. That's a good decision.

But there's something wrong when you reach the wedding day and it hasn't been signed yet. The point of a pre-nup is to negotiate the terms and limits of the marriage BEFORE you invest money in planning your wedding. I'm not saying it's Jax'z fault this didn't happen - it may be hers, as well. But something went wrong.

When people say "It's not about the money" then you can bet it's about the money. This isn't the first time Jax spurned love for money. :angel

This is probably for the best. Imagine how many fans would have gotten their asses beat if Jax had to go through a costly divorce a few months down the road.

Why is this newsworthy in a newspaper and such?

Jack was never known for his intelligence thats for sure.
