Easy to look at the last 3 mins of the game, but this game was lost with a slow start and a terrible 3rd quarter... I'm not sure Pop still has figured out how to make the starters effective on offense, it's really hurting us right now...

Spurs clearly don't want to be higher than the 7th seed.

Why did James Johnson not even get a training camp invite with the Spurs when they had him in for workouts during the 2013 off-season? I'm very curious why the Spurs didn't think he was good enough even for a training camp invite.

I'm still scratching my head over this. At the very least they could have given him a training camp invite.

I don't even know what to say. I'm more pissed about this result than the Clippers game last Saturday. Lack of execution, communication, on top of a whole lot of other things. Sickening losses are becoming a norm.

This game was lost with the big 4 playing like absolute dog shit all game. That's all there is to say. If even one of them shows up tonight and plays well, we win.

:lol closing the game with 4 of the worst players today.

A fucking blind monkey knows better than to play that trash lineup, considering how things were going. But :cry we're playing armchair quarterbacks and don't have five rings :cry

tmtcsc
02-08-2015, 09:32 PM
Shit like this is why Pop can sometimes be so frustrating. 0 minutes for CJ in the second half when it was clear he was doing a great job. Bad game overall by the big 4 and Patty Mills. Pop could have won this game if he had played the right combinations out there. I guess he wanted to go with TP and see what he has left.

Very frustrating considering the spurs can never see to make up ground in the West by lose these winnable games. This is probably the tenth or twelfth game they have lost by 5 or less.

:lol shot 33% and still almost won...it doesn't feel bad, tbh.

The offense actually looked very fluid, with excellent passing and lots of open looks. Unfortunately, the entire team shot like ass.

Also I don't understand why Baynes is starting over Splitter, or why Mills isn't the first PG off the bench. Anyone know?

Harry Callahan
02-08-2015, 09:39 PM
This team looks like dog crap way too many nights.

It's very frustrating.

This looks like a team barely making the playoffs and then doing nothing when they get there.

The wear and tear of the last 3.5 years is coming home to roost.

There were two small windows of good basketball tonight, but that was not enough.

I'm getting sick of looking at Tony Parker limp around, shoot jump shots, and play uninspired D. He is not a top tier player right now.

I was hopeful things were turning at the last home game for him, but he reverted to his sub-par play.

Too many falls to the floor. Too many miles on the odometer.

The Spurs have to have 9 or 10 guys play well to be effective, not 2 or 3.

That game was there for the taking and they failed.

rasuo214
02-08-2015, 09:39 PM
So all 5 of the Spurs top scorers have an awful shooting night and the Spurs still had a chance to win. Shit happens, move on to the next game.

tmtcsc
02-08-2015, 09:39 PM
At least the Rockets lost tonight, despite Harden dropping 45

Rockets and Clips are about to lose a lot. Spurs, despite this give-away, crap performance are still in decent shape to move up but they have bigger concerns. Leonard needs to know when to try and dominate the offense and when he needs to back off and help with better ball movement. Tony needs to get his shit together (if he's healthy) and start to get around defenders. Right now, he looks way too slow and can't beat his opponent off the dribble.

Ginobili is Ginobili. There's still lots of games and time to get things together but they need to start soon. Tonight would have been a great start and a great win over a solid opponent. Just poor, poor play out of our team leaders.

Agloco
02-08-2015, 09:39 PM
You mean tie the game? And what a lot of posters are probably worried about is how they were in that position to begin with.

Yeah, that would be because of the 33%. I don't really think you can take much else away from this (other than Parkers decline, but we knew that already) since that's such a glaring outlier.

timtonymanu
02-08-2015, 09:45 PM
Lol, no one has the balls to ask Pop why CJ didn't play in the second half.

I assume the reason is for Parker to get his rhythm back but it's concerning that it's taking him so long to at least look like an NBA player again. Leonard, Patty, and now Marco, look fine since they've returned. Parker just looks done and Pop has to use brains over loyalty when it comes to playing him when he looks really bad.

We played terrible. Turnovers, missed shots, poor execution, and had a chance to win. Silver lining I guess.. Always nice to have a game the next day to make up for this performance. Pops weird lineups could mean some guys won't play, but it should be a winnable game

rasuo214
02-08-2015, 09:46 PM
With Marco back is Pop going to cut Manu's mins? He's played way too much this season and it may help him out a bit. There's no reason to keep playing him this many mins with a full roster.

Can only think cause its a hamstring issue, its taking longer. Those usually take time to fully recover from

I thought about that. He should have a Nanny and a big enough house not to deal with the crying but you never know if he or his lady want him to be an active dad and split responsibilities. I thought his hamstring was better and this was all supposed to be mental now.

I call this team the faith crushers right now ... every time an again they give me faith and hope that they can turn back to last years supremacy ... but that third quarter crushed it again.

If CoJo had played instead of Parker in the 2nd half the Spurs would have won the game despite awful shooting ...

We ran into Kawhi Saturday night drinking at Muzik.. not surprised he played bad. I would also put money on drunk Kawhi giving Timmy his haircut after he left the club.

Air Canada is probably one of the nicest arenas I have been to... flew in from SA and toured the arena Friday before the Raps/Clipps game. Getting the W Sunday would have been nice but wearing our "We The South" shirts and trolling Canadians was good times.

Also... James Johnson for MVP.

He was with CoJo. Had a friend try to get up to their table using the line "we are from San Antonio" but didn't work. We were able to get a picture with James Johnson who was just standing on a couch by himself haha
