Have cost us a number of games already.

Time to give it up Pop...

Yeah, there is no reason why Diaw shouldn't be doing it.

There is also no reason for Danny Green being on the bench when you need a 3 on the final possession.

Or any semblance of defense. Not sure why Danny's not out there instead of Marco or even Parker.

Which playoffs would those be? A few more losses and we are right with PHX/OKC/NO

No way any of them are catching catching us. All 3 are playing wildly inconsistent ball. We're more likely to have a top 4 seed.

Spurs will make the playoffs but the reason why this loss is frustrating is because it makes it more difficult for the spurs to get a top 4 seed.

Not wrist cutting here, but even in wins they haven't looked impressive, being pushed by shitty teams like Orlando and Charlotte at home (yeah, they pulled away in the latter, but it was a 2 point game in the 4th). And then getting destroyed on the road by the Bulls and only scoring 82 against the Raptors. We haven't seen a complete game from this team, yet, and it's worrisome, even when they win.

Something is off.

Lost by 5 points, with all 5 of the top scorers having an awful shooting night against the #2 team in the East, on the road = Spurs are an awful team.

They're closer to getting the 3 seed than dropping to the 8th seed.

Toronto = 35-17, 8-2 last 10, #2 seed in the East. They are a good solid team and they were at home, even with all the struggles the Spurs almost beat them, but hey continue cliff-jumping...

Those games are sprinkled in among a bunch of games vs Knicks, 76ers. Have they played any stretches like we had in December? Didn't think so.

Yes, bad pass by Duncan, but why did they even go to Manu? Manu shouldn't have even been in the game. He hurt his leg on the prior play. Get the inbounds, take a shot, miss...live with that. Take two time outs, keep a player that is clearly injured in the game and then turn it over with no attempt...smh

Green is getting treated like garbage and Leonard is still a freestyler in the offensive end....

He knows we're not winning anything if at least 2 of the 3 are not playing at a high level... so, yeah, he's gonna give them as many opportunities as needed to find their groove...

I disagree with this, 1 out of 3 maybe..The spurs have had numerous playoff success in the last two years with only one playing at a high level.

I just don't think the big 3 exists anymore, simply because Tigao, Green and Leonard on many occasions in the playoffs have been far better players....

We need 2. Think about game 6 against the thunder. If only one is playing great that game we don't win. Manu hit a big shot. Duncan sealed the deal.

apalisoc_9
02-09-2015, 12:46 PM
Why would I think about game 6?

I'm talking in general here..

In general, the spurs in the last two years only needed one to play at high level..The other can play average and other will suck..

and even with that the spurs won a ring and b2b finals.

It's not happening, sorry. I'd like to tell you otherwise, but all those guys have severe limitations of their own, and they look up to the seasoned players when the stakes are high, as they should. Leadership and understanding of the game isn't some made up thing, it's very real, IMO. They'll eventually get there, but right now we need at least 2 out of the 3 playing at a high level.

ElNono

Also, don't conflate regular season with playoffs. In the regular season, with little to no pressure, sure, you can make do with anybody. But when the playoffs come around, we're going to need all our horses.

Against certain teams, we can get away with manu and parker playing like crap and pull out the win. Then there's teams where we need at least two of them to chip in. I don't think we get far in the post season with only one of the big 3 playing well each series.

as great as tim is, the one constant has been that when something gets into his head, it messes with him. and that's rare but free throws and now the inbound pass, it appears, will occasionally creep into his mind and cause a brain fart.

That wasn't the case last year in the playoffs. They need 2 of them, imo. Right now all 3 are playing at a subpar level, and that's too much dead weight to overcome. Tony and Timmy in particular are killing our starting lineup.

Honestly I think is just general fatigue from a veteran team. They have played a shit load of basketball the last three years with back to back trips to the NBA finals. It all takes it's toll.
