the cost of the Iraq War is now 191 Billion +

this could have paid for 1,725,697 housing units

or FULLY funded the GLOBAL anti-hunger efforts for 7 years

or (heres my public education math) 861,848 housing units and 3.5 years

mookie is saying these things in a very simple way. I can't believe you turn things around. Is there anyone in there in that big fat head?

I didn't know Michael Moore had a clone that posts in the political forum.

GO away.

Well, isn't that what we do when we divert tax money away from domestic programs to a war in another country, whose advertised purposes (at least the current one) is to liberate that country?

Wow, and here I thought you were volunteering to take in a flood victim and take care of them until they got back on their feet.

My bad. :)

Okay, how about this, then:

Re: need housing, food?

"Get off your lazy ass, get a job and take care of your own living arrangements and quit sitting there with your hand out expecting everyone else to pay your way."

Was that too Tahoe-driverish? :lol

how many housing units in iraq has the us destroyed?
Excluding Saddam's palaces and terrorists safe houses? Not many.

Was the money put to that type of use before the Iraq War?

You know, with an 18 Trillion dollar economy that is growing (albeit temporarily stunted by Katrina), $100+ billion for relief will be easy to find.

For the slow, 18 Trillion is a 1 and an 8 followed by 9 zeroes... $18,000,000,000.00. $100 billion is 0.56% of that; about 1/2 cent on the dollar.

you link to where the numbers are.You made the claim, now back it up.
or, better yet, shut your pie hole.Aw Yoni, don't get mad. If you don't have the facts, just admit it.

Nope, but I've yet to see any obliterated neighborhoods in Iraq. And, if we didn't carpet bomb Fallujah, for God's sake, I'm pretty safe in assuming we haven't carpet bombed anyplace.

I do know we've re-built their infrastructure to Pre-war conditions and I also know that most destruction is being caused by the idiot car bombers and IEDs.

And, I'm not mad, you're just too stupid to believe sometime.

So, you know of such destruction?Never claimed to.

That was you. I figured you had some great article you were all ready to cut-and-plagiarize full of fun facts and colorful anecdotes.

I am genuinely interested in such statistics. Your reaction to my one word request speaks volumes.

You wondered how many, I simply stated that I didn't believe there was much beyond palaces and terrorist safe havens. Why? Because I stay informed and am aware of no such wholesale destruction.

Which volumes does it speak?

and if you didn't know, you shouldn't have said anything

you shouldn't post along party lines
Really, what happens when I post an opinion? Maybe you shouldn't read my posts. Asking the question infers you believe it to be something of significance when, in almost 3 years of war, I'm aware of nothing but conscious efforts to AVOID such incidents.

Petty argument from a petty mind. What next, my spelling?

YOU?
It's inconsequential. << not even sure I spelled that right.
