They had every opportunity to win this game, the shots just didn't fall. Open look after open look in the 4th rimmed out. They held Toronto to 87 pts and outplayed them if you ask me. They need a break and a break is coming. That will give them their legs back to hit shots. I say start resting tonight the bench can beat indy.

The number of games where shots do not fall and end of game execution sucks is alarmingly high.
Also the players had plenty of rest over the last three weeks ... they need more rhythm and continuous lineups ... and less Parker tbh

Sometimes you can outplay a team and still lose. Yeah it's frustrating but not the end of the world. Toronto hit a couple awful looking shots in the 4th also.

Championship teams win close games. Championship teams win on the road. How do you grade this Spurs team in those two areas? /thread

Fans of championship teams do not freak out and declare proclamations about what championship teams do in the regular season.

I just feel like this is now like the begininng of the season now that everyone is finally heatlthy(besides Tony). So they have to work and work fast to get their chemistry from last season. They have won 9 of 11 and they usually come together this time of year so it's not too late. All they have to do is get in and they have as good a shot as anyone.

That's freaking out? I've freaked out once in my Spurs fan lifetime and that was after the unmentionable game. I'll be mildly concerned if this bs continues after the all-star break. Winning close games and winning on the road has been a hallmark of most championship teams. Btw, declare proclamations is redundant, tbh.

Because if they keep sucking ass they wont even reach 50 wins, is that troublesome?

You're saying championship teams do specific things that we have struggled to do this season and then ending with a classic /thread comment. Sounds pretty concerned to me, but if you aren't I don't know why you're stating that the thread is over.

Last night's loss is indicative of the way its been all season--the offensive execution comes and goes, mostly goes late in games, and they fail to get key defensive stops in crunch time.

One of my concerns is we've never really gotten on that Spurs-ish roll. Our longest win streak this season was 8 games. And that was in November. Our second longest streak was a mere 4 games. Injuries, concentration, schedule difficulty, bad luck they are all factors of course, but the "eye-test" hasn't been too promising. That said there is still time to get going, get that consistency.

It only takes a couple of weeks for a team to get hot and really find their rhythm. Look at the Spurs in the first round last year. They looked almost exactly like they do now. No offensive execution, leaving guys wide open, etc.
Then in one game we found the magic and it didn't leave us the rest of the playoffs.
Not saying that's going to happen again this year, but way too early to be seriously worried at this point. Concerned, yes, but we had some serious moments of concern last year too, and it worked out pretty well.

I don't know about doomsday but very concerned. Finally we're pretty healthy but still missing many open shots game after game, Parker has looked bad all season, lately it seems Duncan is struggling and the west is better than ever. Still have faith, but the clippers game, this game...

We have yet to play a complete game.
But the biggest reason is we have a good number of middle school girl trolls on this forum. They seriously change player evaluations play to play during a game. It's whimisical, petty, girlyman, sissy spittle.

No, you're absolutely right. We can do it. This is about the time last year where we began our own big streak. We'll see. :toast
