I don't think AMC is part of the package, but yeah, sound like a good deal.

Thanks, I went to their site and it was not in the lineup.

At a later date, the basic package will include AMC, whose popular shows include “Walking Dead” and “Better Call Saul,” a premium channel that some analysts said was missing to make it a complete online offering.

This is good news, but worth pointing out for AMC fans here that might want to cut the cord soon.

FYI for anyone interested, watching it right now and it's definitely a good quality stream.

What's the total cost (+ taxes/fees), or is it $20 flat?

That depends upon your state. I live in CA, and my taxes listed were $0. So it's a flat $20 for me. No fees added, either. Might vary if you live elsewhere though.

They suck at most everything but their sports lineup is not bad.

I've had a Slingbox for years (now a Hopper with Sling), and it's fucking dope, especially if you travel a lot. Just gotta keep an eye on your data usage if you're on a limited plan or your carrier throttles you after a certain limit.

So, you are limited to one device, e.g. Roku, with a subscription? That kinda sucks.

Perhaps what surprised me most is that my Sprint phone is far and away better at consistently allowing me to surf/do anything online than my work phone with Verizon. I mean, the latter is so bad, it's practically unusable on a regular basis.

Verizon is tits in the NE. But you can't beat AT&T on speed, especially in the Rio Grande valley...

DVR capabilities?

Very limited on select channels, and only allows you to go back up to 3 days... it's different than a full-blown DVR.

Here's a review that explains that:

So this service on Fire TV stick is junk. I resort to Airplaying over my AppleTV since the app on the Fire TV buffers every few seconds. So annoying. Anyone else have these issues?

Wow, sad to report that over the past 2 weeks or so, my service has gone from good (reliable with only a few bad connections) to almost unusable. At this rate I'm not sure if I'll keep using Sling. It's really terrible on my desktop at the moment.

Strangely, it works much better on my tablet. Maybe the first time in history I've seen a mobile app work better than a desktop program.

Roku works pretty well still. It's mostly just my desktop that's been uneven. Although I watched the entire game yesterday without a hiccup, so that was nice.

Yeah, Netflix and especially Hulu on my HTPC are choppy compared to the Roku 1 I got cheap, but maybe a dedicated video card would help that.

Side bar: my common sense says that if you have a Roku that you don't need a smart TV.

I have both and Netflix on the smart TV HD is very crisp and clean like watching a bluray. The Roku 3 is grainy in comparison, even with same tv brand: Vizio.

The huge advantage with the Roku is the amount of apps/channels you have access to. The smart TV has a very very limited amount.....not even sure how I can get Sling on it without the Roku.

Weird about the Roku's resolution. Do you have it set for 1080? Only other thing I can think is your bitrate is low for some reason; either it's set to low or the wireless adapter isn't getting enough bandwidth.

Im actually ready to cut the cord as well. I did it a few years back for about 2 years. Once you detox, it's really not a big deal. Then, I fell off the wagon.

It's not worth it anymore breh.. Everything these days is on demand, and for those live events you just need a lil creativity. That 120 bucks is way better spent on weed and IPA's..

Cancelled DTV like a year ago and haven't missed it ONCE
