Misleading
Not the franchise with most wins (ie winningest)
Just the franchise with the highest percentage of wins

Props to Spurs the Duncan era has really upped the percentage will be interesting to see where it ends up post duncan.

BTW, teams that trail the Spurs have 17, 16 and 6 titles ... my guess you would trade that for this ...

Do you cherish a team that won against midgets in a 10 team league? :lol

I'd give someone the props if he's old enough to witness all but I bet no one is.

Nope. Doesnt matter, tbh. Most yankee fans havent seen all theirs Celts the same. I get recent history matters more but once it's over (the season after the title it's ALL history. the banners still hang no matter when they are won.

And it's still impressive (the % record) I was not diminishing that but we had the top spot before you and I would trade that for the 17 the Celts have. In, the end it's all that matters ... titles.

However I do admit being alive for 10 and watching religiously for the last 8 does make those matter more to me. But I dont act like the other 8 didnt happen. And I would take another 2 years of sorry Lakers ball if you could promise me we would ring after. Im sure the almost 7 years drought and even 6 was worth it for #5.

You don't get credit for rings before you hopped aboard, and don't lie about it.

Yet you use the false number every time. Why can't anyone here just select the Celtics on day one and just like that have more rings than you? See how easy that was?

Spurs had 5 titles in my lifetime and all while the NBA League Pass was available for me to watch. Would definitely take this over those old titles spread over someone else's life.
Only one I can see close would be the 6 Bulls titles.

But I'd still rather have these last 15 seasons and 5 titles where there was always a decent chance of Spurs going all the way. Looking forward to every season knowing that I might get 2 extra months of Spurs basketball.

Yeah but winning percentage is more impressive. Total wins are confounded by time in existence, so obviously older franchises will tend to have more wins. But winning percentage tells you how successful a team has been during its existence.

No false numbers ... they are what they say the are.
all your sarcastic, pithy and condescending remarks and sardonic jabs change nothing. Same as Kool's comments does not change 5.

aka sticks and stones etc...

My words aren't an attempt to change the facts, but to make them apparent. Apparently you have no right to claim rings you weren't even around for, lies be damned.

Well, it is. Did you have a rebuttal?

Here's a hypothetical...

Team A has existed for 30 years and won 20 games per year = 600 total wins, percentage of .244.
Team B has existed for 10 years and won 50 games per year = 500 total wins, percentage of .610.

Which is more impressive?

Neat stat but, we're talking about so-called "meaningless" games that occur during a so-called "meaningless" regular season. So I guess that means if the Clips beat the Spurs and the Lakers beat Brooklyn, the Lakers will re-capture the highest winning %. I'd definitely take those Lakers championships over regular season victories any day of any year.

This would be a valid criticism if we were talking about a team with no titles, but the Spurs have won plenty of those too. We don't feel bad about having fewer titles than one of the oldest and richest franchises in league history. That's just a given.

I'm certainly happy about not being a Lakers fan right now. That franchise is a train wreck. :lol

And with the way their front office is structured, they better get used to the number 16. That number won't be budging anytime soon.

No doubt the Lakers are in for some lean years. However, I'm more interested in seeing what the Spurs FO does after Duncan and Ginobili retire. How will they re-structure their team around Leonard and will they spend the necessary money to keep the team in contention. Looking forward to number 6 this year if the spurs can stay healthy and Parker returns to form.

The "my team has more championships than yours" excuse is the most stupid arguement anyone can make.

Specially when you try to use the team's history when you weren't even fucking alive.

Its like those dumbass Yankees fans. They bring up the 27 championships like they were there as witnesses. That does not count.

If said team wins a championship and you weren't a fan then you dont get to celebrate or brag about it.

So when it comes to the Spurs and Lakers ring count here, people should be more accurate and use the duncan's Spurs and the Kobe's Lakers which would then put then in a tie as far as championship and rings go.

After Duncan retires will officially be AD in the NBA timetable. Not sure if some Spurs fans realize how special and important he is. I think the Spurs will remain competitive as long as Pop wants to coach, and our FO will always accomodate him.
