More Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Tsunamis - While what has happened in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and other parts of that region this past week is a great tragedy, I'm afraid that this is just the beginning of deadly earth changes that will spawn increasingly ferocious hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes and even tsunamis throughout 2005. Hurricane season will come back with a fury in 2005 and once again Florida will bear the brunt of the destruction, but Gulf coastal cities won't be speared this time. Expect either New Orleans, Galveston-Houston, or some part of the Texas coast to suffer a major storm with major damage.

It was a huge object seen from space heading towards the USA, it was only 40 miles wide, maybe Bush did not see it,
If he had a TV all he had to do was turn it on.

name one thing Bush is good at?........................

I will come back in an hour so you can have time think about it.

Why could we not be prepared for this? we knew the magnitude of the hurricane and where it was going to hit at least a couple of days in advance. They know there are poverty striken people who cannot get out even in manditory evacuation. Why did someone not help them get out before this happened? Alot of lives could have been spared. The poor people have been left for dead. They have no transportation and no money what did they expect?

Do you think the relief would be bogged/slowed/inefficient if it were tens of thousands of Upper Class SoCal Teenie Boppers, many of which were young white cheerleaders?

I think that's the basic problem with what happened. You have a careful balance of doing too much and not doing enough. Then there are many complications with people who don't want to move, can't move, or fight being moved.

This doesn't even begin to explain the Feds slow reaction to this disaster. As soon as Katrina broke through Florida it was building up to be a big one. The Feds had to know where-ever this thing hit, it was gonna be bad, and when the dice came up craps for NO, shit, the Feds should have had the military in there evacuating people, giving people small vouchers, and battening down the hatches. The hurricane did not deviate for the last 60 hours. They knew exactly were it was gonna hit, yet they did nothing.

Simply inexcusable.

You are all so full of shit. Dan didn't predict a couple run of the mill hurricanes, he predicted catastrophic hurricanes and pinpointed New Orleans and Galveston-Houston. Say what you want about his happiness over predicting correctly, but at least admit that it's impressive. This is the worst hurricane in a long long time, and he predicted it to happen this year. Moron!, Dan predicted shit! The news networks themselves brought in experts that said that this hurricane season was going to be reall bad. SOmething like 20 hurricanes would occur by early october. Those same experts pointed out that this has nothing to do with global warming. All dan did is pick the info and went ahead and blamed Bush.http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2005/s2484.htm (http://)
