:lol Shooting 41.3% from beyond the arc on high volume is chucking now.

Meanwhile, Danny Green shoots 39% from 3 and Kawhi shoots 33% from 3.

I guess the only guys who aren't chuckers in this league are the 14 players who shoot better than KMart from 3. :lol

Here's his playoff averages, moron: 13.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.0 apg, 38.8% shooting, 35.4% from three

He's arguably the biggest fraud in the NBA. Always puts up 'nice' numbers in the RS that don't reflect how little talent he actually has. That usually gets exposed in the playoffs (the few times that he's actually gotten there).

lol absolute star my ass

He takes shots in volume and makes them at a top 15 rate from deep for the entire NBA and at ~45% for the season. On a team that's 11 and 42 and started Mo Williams in 19 games this year. :lol

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of their basketball acumen there, chief. Reggie Jackson is a terrible chucker AND a far worse defender than Martin and they play him 20 minutes per game.

I agree with this, the Mavs bench looks pretty awful from a talent standpoint(Amare was a good move), but I still think their team is built strangely..you could argue that the 2011 team was also "throwing shit on the wall", but that team had an entire roster of players with defined roles..

Carlisle found their roles later on. At the beggining Cuban was just getting big name players that were slightly past their primes and Carlisle somehow made it work. Kidd came as a hall of Famer fast-breaking PG and ended up being a great defensive PG that would get the team on their sets and knock down the open 3 (something he never has done before on his career), Marion came to be the high flying, slasher wing and ended up as a defensive specialist, when he got Peja I'm sure he got it with the idea of being something more than just a 15 mpg bench player yet he fulfilled that role. The only move that seemed to be made thinking more about the cohesive work of a team than just getting a recognisable name was the acquisition of Tyson Chandler.

It's not that bad of a strategy tbh, if you get smart past-prime all-stars like Kidd, Marion and Carter that are willing to adapt you get a team of above average skills for role playing parts.

Sure, but Kidd had already been a defensive-oriented player at one point in his career, as was Marion..the transitions to defensive role players wasn't farfetched, even prior to actually utilizing them in such roles..

Peja was also a 3-point shooting specialist for his entire career, obviously..

The current Mavs team doesn't have any 3&D players, their PG doesn't know what to do in their system, and Parsons-types are the most difficult players to fit on a roster IMO(what exactly does he do at a high level?)..Rondo could become a defensive specialist at PG, but he can't shoot, so obviously that doesn't work(unlike Kidd)..

It's a similar strategy in theory, but completely different in terms of execution of the strategy IMO..

And now Monta Ellis is playing the best ball of his career for Dallas. Same with Tyson Chandler, he was a decent defensive big for Chicago, NOLA and Charlotte, but he took off with the Mavs. Dallas is gaining a rep as a place where players come to get better, similar to what the Spurs have already done. Mavs are like a watered-down version of the Spurs.

Yeah, Parsons has been a severe disappointment for almost any amount of money.

Well, outside of Pop and maybe Thibs, there's no one I'd rather have to develop a player other than Carlisle. And considering Thibs thinks that all of his athletes do ultramarathons in the off-season, I'd probably still take Carlisle.

Going to be interesting to see if the Mavs can remain contenders after Dirk is gone. They definitely have some pieces there.

Anyone who says "top 15" isn't talking about 14th place or better. Just say he was 15th. Otherwise it's ambiguous, like he belongs to this elite group of 15 people when in reality he's got 14 other shooters better than him. It's misleading, dishonest and you know it.

It's like a restaurant that got 5th place in customer voting using "Voted in the top 5 restaurants"

There aren't 450 3pt shooters in the league. If every team in the league had one decent 3pt shooter, he's in the upper half of the teams.
