So many luck chuck 3 pointers by Crawford, so many shit 3 point fouls when a player went untouched, so many no calls and missed goaltends, players out of bounds, traveling, push offs, it all adds up, we got screwed out of 20 points, fucking sham

I'm a Spurs homer, but this team is finished.
Duncan is the only one with a winner's mentality, the rest thought they would cruise into another championship after last year, and seeing that defending is harder than winning their first, they don't know how to handle the adversity. I've been so upset with Kawhi lately, I can't even explain it. Diaw looks lazier than ever, and Splitter turned into a woman again. Duncan deserves more help.

I know its the first game back from the break, but still a dissapointing loss to this fuck ass team..
True, plus they had no back up point guard and were missing their best player. Terrible turnovers (mostly by Ginobili) and passive play (looking at Diaw, Green, Mills and Leonard) cost us this game.
that ginobli turnover in the 4th hurt us. someone in the playoffs, he's gonna fuk us one last time. I just know it
He just kept giving the ball up with stupid pass attempts. Tony overhelping off of Jamal Crawford sealed our fate as well. Gotta dig down deep and give at better effort tomorrow or it won't be pretty.

Unfortunately every year in the NBA I always say you will lose around 3-5 games per year due to horrible reffing. This was just one of those games where the refs will determined to dick over the spurs.
So where are all the Spurs homers now? It's almost March and the Spurs still suck. No more injuries or excuses. First round exit via sweep or lottery draft pick. Gonna lose by 50+ tomorrow night.
Duncan decides to take rest of year off to refuel, we fall to ninth in the west and somehow win the lottery with our 0.1% chance. Good thing we held onto that pick instead of trading it for an underperforming athletic dude on the Magic or something.

Every loss to a "contender" outside of a couple of games (OKC and Clips a few weeks ago) has required a mini miracle for us to lose and it was always close, people need to stop cliff jumping, we wont even be seeing the clippers in the playoffs, they are a non factor

Change happens in the NBA. We still have the best record of the NBA's Final Four from last year. Miami, Indy, OKC all have worse records than us. It's really amazing how consistent we've been over the Duncan Era.

So many are the "worse" loss, but tonight was sad. TP, Baynes, and Tim played well only to be let down badly by Manu, Boris, Kawhi, Tiago, Verde, Beli, and Patty. At least Tiago got to the line. I watched this same shit last time the Clips beat us. The good news is I might save a few thousand dollars a year because spending $200 a game to watch this shit gets old. I could hold my hand over an open flame .....for free.

Can't really compare SA to them.
OKC and Indy both had MAJOR injury problems. Sure, the Spurs had Pussy and Patty injured at the beginning of the season, but that's it. Had Duncan or Parker or Leonard had a season-ending injury, Spurs would be bottom of the League. Miami lost Lebron James. Simple as that.

Whats amazing despite all the injuries and drop off in the play of a lot of our key players this year the Spurs will still end up winning 50 plus games. Unfortunately the spurs got screwed with a ton of injuries early on this year along with a shit schedule that was insanely hard that put them in this bad predicament. It takes some luck to be a top of team in the NBA and this year the spurs have had zero luck.

Spurs had a tough time with 7th seed dallas, killed Portland because they were thin on the bench and inexperienced and almost wet the bed when Ibaka came back. Spurs were tailored to beat a Miami team that was 1 player dominant. The problem is they can't even string together more than 3 wins in a row. No ball movement, nobody really pulling weight.. Spurs are lucky that Pelicans suck too and the Suns will tank or they might not even make the playoffs

Yup. Had Manu not hit that three (when the refs missed an obvious illegal screen by Duncan on Fisher) to send OKC to overtime in Game 6, Spurs would not have made it to the 2014 Finals.

They also didn't have the injuries last year. The point is just because you suck against quality teams in the regular season doesn't mean shit in the playoffs. The Spurs won't be playing the Lakers, Nets or Jazz in the playoffs so those games are irrelevant. If you think the Spurs can't overcome the poor seeding then that's a valid point otherwise the Spurs have shown the regular season isn't a good barometer of what will happen in the playoffs. I mean the Spurs are 2 1/2 games back from the 3 seed and people are acting like they're 10 games back from the 8th seed.

Obviously the Spurs aren't gelling the way last year's team did. That doesn't mean they're not still a contender. There are several contenders out west. Hopefully they get it together by playoff time, like they did last year.
I just never understood why one game has the ability to send some fans into a frenzy.
This team looks about the way they have for a while now: slightly above average, with occasional flashes of brilliance and occasional flashes of ineptitude.
My point is just that this one game does not really warrant the meltdown people are having.

Spurs are 14 game above .500 while they are only 4 games above .500 with the same amount of games played. I still feel the spurs have a good cushion on them. Its usually hard to make up that type of deficit. Its possible but it will take a massive nose dive from the spurs to do it. The ball is in the spurs court and if they can't keep ahead of OKC they have only themselves to blame.

Spurs don't play them until late March and April. If the Spurs are barely ahead of them by the time they meet them in March then the spurs are in some serious trouble. The Spurs should make serous progress by then in the next few weeks that the 2 games against OKC should be meaningless. If thats not the case by late March I won't even care if the Spurs lose because it will already be set in stone that the Spurs are just terrible this year.

That's my point. It's not just one game, so why does this one game cause so many people to go berserk?
I understand being concerned about the play of the team, and the cumulative effect of these losses is disturbing, but it's just tiring seeing cliff-jumpers after every loss.
This team has many flaws, and these need to be addressed. I honestly don't see this team making it to the Finals, but I hope it can happen and that is a possibility.
I guess I just find it weird, after 6, seeing so many people freak out about the regular season.

I think we can get through this RRT with a 6-3 record. I can only hope that slowly we can regain our composure and finish the RS strong. If we can enter the playoffs with a top four seed, I like our chances because we have the experience to overcome a lot when push comes to shove.

We lost this game tonight......we're fucking finished.
If we win this game tonight.....we've flipped the switch.
Step away from the cliff people.

Lost in all the sucktitude of tonight's loss was Duncan's great game. 30 pts, 11 rbs, 2 blks, 1 stl, 0 tnvrs. Against one of the best defensive bigs in the game in DeAndre Jordan.
t's crazy that a big who's almost 40 fucking years old is still our best player... You really can't say enough good things about Timmy. He's just unreal and we'll never have another player like him.
:worthy: Timmy the GAWD
Think he was like 12-14 from the field too....outstanding Timmy.

I don't think so. A win would of been the same as a loss for me, tbh. Team still looked like shit either way.

Yeah, still too soon to count the Spurs out. But there is reason to be concerned. IMO, Diaw/Splitter is the biggest concern. Don't know if they are just coasting, but their subpar play has been hurting the Spurs this year.
I completely agree.
I agree with everything you said, and that there's cause for concern, just not the nightly meltdown we're faced with on here.
We still have Pop/Duncan/Parker/Ginobili. The Spurs are still relevant and a legitimate playoff threat. Therefore, I am happy. Anything after last year is gravy.
When those 4 leave, dark times may be ahead. And I'm very curious to see how this forum's posters will react.

:lol I agree with what you said. We'll know in the next few weeks how good the spurs really are. If the Spurs are still crap at the end of March then people should start panicking.

probably won't be a ST when that happens. or it will be trolls and shills amidst a wasteland.
i don't look forward to those dark times either. so many little things that we all take for granted. TD will be the hardest to replace, he's a once in a generation type of guy. As long as they can put together some really competitive teams that play the right way, that will be huge. Also, on the flipside it will be nice to not have to worry about every little injury the older guys get. It will be interesting how RC builds a team with a lot of youth again.

Don't understand why CoJo couldn't get any minutes in this one... Mills was struggling, Manu was largely a non-factor (though he did hit some timely 3's), and Green wasn't doing much for most of the game.

Stats show that losing close games is effectively almost random. One shouldn't worry too much about close losses like tonight, they can go either way. It's games where we get blown out (or blow out the other team) that are indicative of our true strength either way. A bigger concern than our records is the fact that our point differential is the weakest of any Western contender except Houston and OKC.

Either way it sucks to be the Warriors and Grizzlies. They will have to play either Spurs or Thunder in the 1st round the way the seeding is shaping up.
