Different circumstances... We are the hunted, like Miami was the previous couple years and they were getting beat by shitty teams. It comes with the territory. This team goes on even a 5-7 game winning stream (6 straight home games after the RRT) and they could go up to the 3rd seed.
IF they do, do you really think this team will? Honestly? Last year they were hungry after the loss like I said, this year they don't show that same intensity.
unprecedented really. after 99 who would've envisioned this. we dominated for 15 damn years. so many life long memories are cause of the spurs.
thank you so much big 3 and pop and all that contributed. :toast

Well everything has a ending just most folks don't like to see it but some appreciate every minute they have until they are gone. Such is life.............

That is very true. It has to end sometime, just wish it was not now and hop they turn it around although I doubt it. I would not be shocked but then again I would not be too let down if they do not because I don't expect it. I loved the run, every single year it was fun watching what the team would do and then they turned it up later and were a real threat to win it all. If this is the END then so be it, I love this damn team and 5 titles! DAMN.

They look bad, uninterested, sluggish, out of sync, you name it. I guess, after 6 and the way they bounced back and did what we all thought was unthinkable, I'm not quite ready to say they can't turn it around. They haven't hit that elite level yet that they showed during their run last year. I guess for me, is if they do hit that level, with or without HC, I don't think there's a team that can beat them in a 7 game series.
Maybe last year was like the one last great fight an old greater fighter past his prime has in him.

YES IF they hit that level they are a problem, if not they could be out in round one and that is what we are looking at right now. It's up to the team to get it together. I agree on everything you said above, they look all of what you said and then some.

That is what I was thinking about, one last hoorah they got up the energy for after 6, they were on a mission.

numerous "small miracles" need to happen in order for Spurs to play at "last year's level" (not likely)
1. parker needs to get his speed and legs back
2. kawhi needs to bounce back and get his shot back
3. patty needs to get his head out of his ass
4. splitter needs to find his balls
5. pop needs to put the scrub assistant coaches on ignore
6. manu's leash needs to be tightened
7. all need to remain healthy throughout
believe I guess...

Believe indeed :)
The first 4 all seem reasonable to me. Parker needs consistent playing time which he's getting. People are panicking about him, but he notoriously starts out slow. And his season is still sort of in the beginning after missing so much Kawhi is in a slump (Which all players go through) & seems the same for Patty, who also isn't getting consistent minutes like he was last year. And Splitter seems to lose his balls regularly, but he found em' in the first & second round last year when needed most.
5/6/7 are yet to be seen. Hopefully in regards to 7, all our injuries are out of the way.
I don't think the issues are unfixable. Tomorrow in Portland, they could look like they did against Portland in the playoffs and it wouldn't surprise me at all.
At least TD/Marco/Joseph are playing well. I would also think/suggest Pop look into resting Diaw for a couple weeks. He's played a ton of basketball and hasn't had a significant break.

i mean, some people on here are just extreme... (not the post i replied to) its like, yea its been a tough season. injuries piled up early, december we played 18 games and like 5 sets of b2bs +some 3 games in 4 nights. that december schedule and injuries is a big reason they sit 7th and not 3-4 now. these guys just need a couple games of spurs basketball and they could go on an extended run.
im not going to freak out over poorly played games in February. theyve shown me too much over the last couple seasons
