Don't worry, they'll follow this up with a close loss in Portland with Enrique putting up an astounding 10 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, a steal, and 5 TOs in 35 mins of play!

Danny has unfairly been the scapegoat all season. Wouldn't blame that LDN if he bolted in the off-season.

Interesting. The next game could determine the season, in a way.

If they come out with some serious aggressiveness and get a damn win (not just a close game), then that's reason for at least some hope.

If not, I am going to be seriously fucking scared.

As a Spurs fan, the only times I have felt a starter was killing the team was the washed-up perimeter players of 2001 and 2002, Michael Finley in 2008 and 2009, and Keith Bogans during whatever year that was..I didn't even feel as strongly about Bonner and Blair, tbh..

This year's version of Parker has joined that list, unfortunately..there's really no hope for this team as long as he is starting and finishing games..

Thread worthy material. Jackson with the "pop only cares about the big 3" tbh. I could never see tony manu or tim benched although tim for obvious reasons but it definitely is unfair to the team chemistry that tony will never get benched and definitely not by themselves as to never hurt their feelings. When green makes a mistake. Pop benches him. When kawhi fucks up, he benched him. When Parker sucks, time to bench the whole team because they cant carry enrique good enough. :lmao

That might be the case ... but these Spurs players were a well oiled machine over the past seasons so I do not know how the assistant coaches might have fucked it up so badly.

NBA watched the last 2 Finals closely and adapted. They know how to play the Spurs. good coaches like Carlisle, Van Gundy wrote the blueprint. Now it's on Spurs coaches to redesign the game. They are failing at doing this. This combined with the regression of Parker and the other big 2 and the failure of utilizing Kawhi correctly. And you have the season we are having.

DesignatedT

Seeing the Spurs' decline this season has reminded me of the Detroit Bad Boys decline. For a few years, they were so good, and then age finally caught up with them and while they could still beat good teams that took them lightly, they just didn't have it anymore. The Spurs have had a great run, and I wrote them off three years ago. While that was a mistake, let's be honest, when your best player is near 40, you don't have much gas left in the tank. We'll play out this season and finish with an 8th seed and then lose in the first round to a younger, hungrier team. And I have no problem with it as last year made it well worth what our rebuilding will be like over the next six years.

This team needed a signature loss. Like the every year Bucks loss of years past.

The good thing is, the way things are going, if they make the playoffs, they have a chance to peak in the playoffs.

But this team reminds me of the 03 Lakers.

5 up in the loss column with 26 games to play. Would take a pretty substantial meltdown of winning 40% of games + Suns or Hornets 60%. Though think about how big that Asik tip in looms in retrospect - would be 4 games plus a guaranteed tiebreaker to NO, which they can salvage by winning the last game of the season.

Turnovers, defensive lapses, and inconsistent shooting, right now this team is on a downward spiral, but on the bright side this is the same team that walked away with the Larry O'Brian Trophy they just have to get that chemistry going, and it's not one guy, it's equal opportunity everyone is getting a shot at messing up.

Nah, it was all about starting a new sculpture, how the rock is new and the pounding has to begin anew, that you cannot lean on your last work to compensate for lack of execution of this new piece, if you want a work of art. Eventually the rock breaks, and eventually you can perhaps carve out a championship but it takes one swing at a time. Pop was telling them to not get frustrated, to just keep playing though the difficulty, that it would galvanize them, bring them together. He probably said he will accept a loss if he knows they played their best, but they aren't doing that right now. He asked for their best, each one of them. He probably didn't bitch anyone out. He'd do that in public.
