Instead they use trucks with sand when every other place in the country that it snows or freezes uses rock salt that actually works

Because the bubbas around here bitch and say "it messes up the bottom of my car". Salt is better than sand. I don't give a fuck if it rusts the bottom part of your car. Sand does hardly anything to help you on an icey road and the sand stays on the road for days.

I think you're right. Just like that idiot that wrecked his new Hellcat. Not driving properly for your car and conditions.

In all, the City's network includes plowing and sanding 1,700 miles of lanes on those 518 miles of streets

The sanding works fine as long as you aren't an idiot.

It doesn't make any sense to have $100,000 worth of salt that might sit there for years in south Texas.
The use of that crap pea gravel just pisses me off. The use it on overpasses once and it might take them
3 months to pick it up the left overs that pile up on the shoulders. How many times has some Ass drive over to the
shoulder and spray your car. That's how road rage gets started......I have been in Indiana in the winter
and I can tell you that salt works great on roads and sidewalks. The bad thing about salt is it's hard on roads
and bridges.

They stop using salt years ago when they couldn't control all the beer drinking Mexicans from licking the streets.

when you learn how to drive you will learn that you don't have to be close to the car in front of you
to have rocks hit your car. Have you ever seen the big rubber flaps on the back of trucks
and trailers? They are not all for mudd..........

Pretty sure they've been using sand since before anyone knew who Obama was. You know, prior to 2007.

the sand from Africa is half as qualified but still gets the job. Plus when African sand is used people's hubcaps miraculously end up missing
