Do you think it will work with three 3andD players and 2 post players, with ball movement and nobody dribbles the ball for 10secs?
Just screens and ball movements, and pass in to post, post ups, pass out open 3.
Our defense will be great too.

that sounds like a horrible idea

How so?
Imagine Manu, danny, Kawhi, Diaw and Tim. or replace Manu with jimmy butler/wiggins/batum/thompson etc

The Spurs' system counts on all players to pass at all times. Yes, there is less need for a point guard.

Its like the old Dutch "Clockwork Orange" system of soccer -- all players do all things as interchangeably as possible. Total Football, they called it. Pop believes in Total Basketball (another Euro concept).

That said, either TP, or Manu, or even Mills needs to penetrate some to keep the wheels greased.

Spurs have won 4 championships with a mediocre PG, statistically, tbh..an average PG is fine in the system..

It could work as long as no team decides to pressure us like the Pistons did in '05 (thank you Speedy!).

That said, it wouldn't work in the playoffs.

(And yes, pressbreak setups could work around that for a while, but it still would be a pain in the ass to play like that for whole games.)

The 3and d guy would need to have moderate ball handling and passing when paired with green and kawhi. I think it could work. Especially if we started an aggressive diaw2.0.

We won last year with our "star" PG playing average ball...

Diaw's had a poor season thus far but I still think he's going to step it up in the playoffs like Horry used to.

The worst part about the Spurs' sucking right now is not even the suckage, it's that ST becomes littered with insane amounts of stupid threads.

Someone that gets it. We don't need tony parker of old. We need tony parker on the fucking bench.
I wonder if tony faked injuries cause he knows the team plays better without him to help the team clinch series.
Thanks tony. :toast
