It is that time again.

The anti-immigration, anti-whatever party senses change is in the air and the race to be the loser in the next presidential election is upon us.

Every move the obvious hopefuls and ones the media hopes are hopefuls will now be scrutinized.

The top of my yahoo news feed features:
Christie playing the old tired media-bashing saw:
http://news.yahoo.com/chris-christie-turns-media-bashing-cpac-gathering-000739970.html

Rand Paul (ron paul whoooo, oh wait, whut?) calling out Jeb Bush for something or other about marijuana:
http://news.yahoo.com/rand-paul-calls-out-jeb-bush-on-marijuana-213742228.html

And Jindal campaigning against congress:
http://news.yahoo.com/jindal-tells-gop-congress-grow-spine-dhs-funding-230823963--election.html

As a Democrat... I can't wait to watch these asshats shamelessly pander to their base, saying all the dumbest things they can to attract the Republican primary voters.. then run full tilt away from everything they said in the primary to sound vaguely sane for the general public who gets to try and decide how much crazy they can stomach.

The Democratic candidates will be doing the same, but to a far more limited extent. The extremist tilt of the GOP, and the immigrant bashing idiocy that seems to entail, ensure that the overall GOP message will get swamped in the crazy.

Let the games begin. :corn:

Obama slams Jeb Bush: He should ask John Boehner why there’s no immigration reform

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/REUTERS-DO-NOT-REUSE18-800x430.jpg

President Barack Obama on Wednesday told Latinos that Republicans were to blame for holding up changes to U.S. immigration laws, urging them to hold Republicans accountable for the problems in the 2016 presidential election.

Speaking on the home turf of Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor who is considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination, Obama told young members of Miami’s Latino community concerned about deportations that they need to turn up the political heat.

Bush has criticized Obama for setting back the cause of immigration reform by taking executive actions in November to offer work permits and lift the threat of deportation for as many as 4.7 million undocumented immigrants.

Obama’s plans were supposed to take effect last week, but were thwarted by a Texas judge who halted the actions. The Justice Department has asked for an emergency stay on that action, and is also appealing the decision.

Obama said Bush’s criticisms were an “excuse” and noted that in the last Congress, Republicans in the House of Representatives blocked an immigration bill passed by the Senate from moving forward.

“I appreciate Mr. Bush being concerned about immigration reform. I would suggest though that what he do is talk to the speaker of the House and the members of his party,” Obama said.

Obama should just sign himself on for a 3rd term with one of those handy dandy executive orders he enjoys using so much. No one else is gonna do any fuckin better. The loser will surely obstruct the winner; the wars will surely continue; the politicians will surely raise their salaries; incriminating emails will surely be lost; Americans will surely be assassinated without due process; immigrants will surely continue flooding over the border. . .
