STILL not talking about the Raiders offense vs Jets defense :lol
Now if by some miracle the Raiders go out and light up Pittsburg, ur just gna blame Bell
STILL, too dumb to figure out the "spot" the Jets were in, why am I not surprised?
Did you read what I said about the Jets in this "spot" before the game? Well how did it go?
Little man, do you understsnd any of this "travel" "on the road" "heading into a bye" "coming off a bye" stuff at all?

I've noticed a lot of you here act totally goofy over a team because....you like them, they are your team. Yep, comical to watch. My Niners are one of the greatest franchises in the history of pro football. They are 5-1 in SB's and have had as many great players as anyone. But, as of right now we totally suck, might be the worst team in the league. So? That's how the system is geared, why the bad teams draft first. I get it.
Some of you are so ridiculous with your silliness, how about keeping it real...ok?
Hey look, Cuckvante melting down over someone else besides him daring to have an opinion about football.
If all you want is a monologue on your terms, GTFO and go start a blog, faggot.

Raiders are doing good man, give them credit. They have a good young nucleus.
Nobody expected them to be where they are.
Hell, nobody thought Carr would play this well. Since the bye week he has 7 TDs and 0 INTs.

You're right and wrong.
Yes it was a significant factor in the game, and with Gates the Chargers may have played a lot better. But you're wrong because nobody is going to remember Gates was out, they will just look at the record, and that is all Oakland needs/cares about.

Colts beat Jax, Houston, Tenn, TB, Detroit and Chicago, they are 6-0 vs an Eagles team losing to NE, Den, Cincy and GB, beating Steelers and Cards. Eagles at 2-4. It goes a lot farther than just wins/losses if ya know the game.

Yeah I think they finish 8-8 or 9-7 and miss out on the playoffs this year. It's easy to accept a loss like week 1 against Cincinnati. Just got outplayed and dominated. But losing winnable games like Chicago, Denver, and Pitt will haunt us

Carr to Cooper (barring injury) will be a special combo for a long time. Then there's Crabtree.
9-7 very realistic in 2015, and I have no problems seeing a playoff spot in 2016, then in 2017 a legit SB contender.
The league always better when the Raiders are in the mix.

i think there is a difference between coming back from a suspension and having yet to be suspended for a year. not that they did bad in signing him, but i don't get why would you keep him around for a year, he isn't going anywhere.

He's a free agent anyway, his contract isn't going to toll to next year. The Raiders are just saying they intend to sign him again when he's eligible.
I wasn't a huge fan of the signing when it happened because we all knew the suspension was coming. If he goes incident free for a year I'm pretty sure he'd want to come back.
spurraider21

So the Raiders want Aldon Smith back next year, and Smith wants to be back with the Raiders next year. That's a good sign, and this next year will be a test. Guys tend to get in trouble in the offseason, and a year long break will be quite telling. If he stays clean, i want him back

Well I don't think he is. I'm not really a fan, I'm a fan of very few players and among qbs it's probably just Carr. I do respect many others, but anyway, by skillset alone I consider him probably around #10-15 in the league.
spurraider21
11-30-2015, 01:01 AM
that 3 game skid really put the raiders in a tough spot. losing on the road to pitt isn't embarrassing (even though we had chances to win)... and losing at home to the Vikes isn't the worst thing in the world (they're 8-3 right now), but the dud against Detroit will probably end up being the fork.
that said, the win today kept us alive in things. at 5-6, we're still only a game out of the last wildcard spot (jets and chiefs tied). we play KC at home next week and already have the heads up against the jets... so next week is essentially a playoff game for us against a division opponent.
Carr rebounded after a couple of bad games, and is on pace for 4,200 yards, 35 TD's, 9 INT's despite barely playing in week 1. both cooper and crabtree are on pace to eclipse 1,000 yards, and latavius is on pace for over 1,000 rushing yards. murray has been terrible when Rodney Hudson (starting C) has been out, like today

I'd say so. The Jets/Steelers games were huge, too, but those were early enough in the season where while pivotal, they weren't make-or-break games.
KC has been rolling, but we're at home.

Why ya so concerned over winning games this season? I'd be more into a higher draft pick since there is no hope for a playoff spot.
Obviously the Raiders are heading in the right direction, leave it at that.

i think establishing a winning culture is more important to this team than picking 3-4 spots higher. with a young team like this, you want wins. teams build on them, and success can carry over to next year. having wins under your belt gives you confidence to get wins in tough spots going forward.
if we were a team about to rebuild, without a quarterback, i'd be more likely to go along with tanking. we're 1 game out of a wildcard spot, it would be silly to not give a young squad the opportunity and invaluable experience. the environment of "must-win" games, etc. we got none of that last year. imagine by some divine miracle we crack a wildcard spot and get a playoff game. even though we'd probably get blown out, just having a game in a playoff environment will be a great learning experience...

I'm sure they are well aware of the fact they aren't ready for prime time yet, having yet to beat any team with a winning record. And now it gets rough with both KC games and in Denver and vs a GB team in desperation mode.
Unless the playoffs are realistic I'm more into draft picks, that's why I hope the Niners don't win another game.
I have no doubts the Raiders will be in the playoff mix in 2017, maybe even 2016.

1 game out with 5 games to go is still considered "in the mix" by virtually any standard. i dont think we are a team that will benefit much from tanking. tanking in the draft only really matters if you are targeting a QB with the #1 pick or something (like the colts did for luck)

a couple of weeks ago i said i had them going 8-8 or 9-7... not that far off. i think 7-9 is a fair assessment. they're 5-7 now, i dont think they win 3 of 4 to get to 8 wins

Raiders have agreed to an extension with Crabtree. Awesome news, no brainer for both sides imo.
hearing its for roughly 8 mil per year which is solid considering he's 28 right now, has great chemistry with carr, and we have loads of money we need to shell out.

outside of JJ Watt there isn't a front 7 player I'd take over Mack right now... he's unreal. already an elite run defender, he's now the NFL sack leader :wow

The Raiders doing everything an up and coming teams does. Mack part of that.
I have no problems seeing them at 10-6 in 2016 and a playoff spot. As they get better and better with each draft and free agent signing, who wouldn'r wanna be a Raider? The game is better when the Raiders are in the mix.

The Packers need this game, so we can expect a 100% effort. So, this will be a good game to see just where are the Raiders. How close can they keep it?

Fun game to be at despite the rain. Carr screwed the pooch with those 2 first quarter picks. Green Bay got virtually no other offense until the third quarter. Offense did enough to get back in the game, but Rodgers got hot enough in the third to get the job done.
Cooper became the first Raiders receiver to crack 1,000 yards since Randy Moss in 2005. He's had a rough stretch but still says something to get 1,000 as a rookie with 2 games still to go. Carr also became the first Raiders qb to toss 30 TD's since Lamonica

Woodson announced his retirement, but he's leaving on his own terms. Got voted into the pro bowl. Mack easily got in as well. Reece made it on reputation alone. He's not an impact player

So he's the exact opposite of the Cowboys DBs/safeties, they "hold their ground" but never come up with the difference making plays. 8 turnovers on the season for the Cowboys' D :lol

Charles Woodson is very admirable imho. The fact he's last so long and still been very good at such an incredibly old age speaks to his continuous work ethic and most importantly, love for the game. He's had tons of money and could have retired a long time ago, but he's done a remarkable job of finishing his career and legacy.
Sorry Steelers fans that your guys took the money and quit early to save themselves from more physical punishment, tbh. Your defense sucks now :lol but hey at least you have Ben and AB.

7-9 was a realistic record given the youth of the team, coaching staff overhaul, and expected growth of last year's rookies. last year being a foundation season, this season needed to show growth, and it did. the real expectations begin next year, where anything short of the playoffs will be considered a failed season. quick recap...
- charles woodson: an all time favorite player, sad to see him go, but realistically he wasn't a very good player (though he did a nice job of making up for overall poor performances with big, impactful splash plays). key figure to our turnaround, glad he decided to give another round with the S&B
- all in all, good seasons from the young guys. Carr throwing for about 4k yards, 32 TD's in year 2... Cooper didn't seem like he had a particularly good year, but reached 1000 yards during his 14th game. Crabtree had a big rebound season with over 900 yards and 9 TD's. Latavius Murray put up 1000 rushing yards in his first season as a starter. Clive Walford looks legit at TE. and of course, defensively, Khalil Mack was 2nd in the NFL in sacks while being probably the best run defender in the game
- as far as needed changes, the secondary needs a massive overhaul. basically every DB on the roster outside of Amerson and Carrie need to go. maybe Nate Allen could stay, but not at his salary. the OL needs some work. the right side was among the worst in the league, and Penn showed his age and is a free agent at LT
- the defensive front 7 looked really good overall, but we are missing a critical piece, a true middle linebacker. I'm hoping we draft Reggie Ragland in the first round to set the tone there.
see ya next season, better times ahead

IIRC, Verrett got in as an alternate. Alternates: another reason why the Pro Bowl is a useless waste of time. After all the injuries and the players on the Super Bowl teams pulling themselves out, half the league gets to call themselves a Pro Bowler every year.

Oakland winning both meetings in 2015.
A Chargers fan running down the Raiders, hahaha!!!!!!! That's as dumb as Derek Anderson is better than Cam Newton.
