you can't make this shit uphttp://i62.tinypic.com/10gmp37.png

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/sheriff-mack-gofundme-medical-bills

Former Arizona county sheriff Richard Mack, a fierce opponent of Obamacare and a leader in the "constitutional sheriff" movement, is struggling to pay his medical bills after he and his wife each faced serious illnesses. The former sheriff and his wife do not have health insurance and started a GoFundMe (http://www.gofundme.com/helpsheriffmack)campaign to solicit donations from family and friends to cover the costs of their medical care.

"Because they are self-employed, they have no medical insurance and are in desperate need of our assistance," reads a note on Mack's personal website (http://sheriffmack.com/).

Mack, the founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (http://cspoa.org/), suffered a heart attack in January and is in recovery. His wife fell ill late last year. Mack is on the board (http://oathkeepers.org/oktester/board-of-directors/#mack) of Oath Keepers, a right-wing fringe group made up of police and military veterans, and is known for supporting Cliven Bundy (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/richard-mack-interview-human-sheilds) in his standoff against the federal government. He is also an ardent opponent of Obamacare.

"The States do not have to take or support or pay for Obamacare or anything else from Washington DC. The States are not subject to federal direction," he wrote on his website (https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsheriffmack.com%2Fdocs%2FT he_States_Can_Stop_Obama.pdf), outlining how state governments can block President Obama.

The CSPOA lauded South Carolina for using Mack's 1992 lawsuit against gun control legislation to attempt to nullify the Affordable Care Act (http://www.thestate.com/2013/11/06/3082096_sc-proposal-to-nullify-obamacare.html?rh=1) in the state.

"Now as states wake up to their true power and responsibility, we have SC taking exemplary action to protect their citizens from an out of control federal government," a CSPOA blog post (http://cspoa.org/sheriff-macks-lawsuit-now-being-used-to-stop-obamacare/) about the South Carolina bill reads.

Mack founded the CSPOA to "unite all public servants and sheriffs, to keep their word to uphold, defend, protect, preserve, and obey the Constitutions of the United States of America" and described (http://cspoa.org/about/message-from-mack/) the group as "the army to set our nation free." The CSPOA is helping to get the word (http://cspoa.org/help-sheriff-mack-2/) out about the fundraising campaign to offset the Macks' medical expenses.

"Since it appears that recovery will take a good deal of time with associated expenses, I struggle to not feel stress – both the stress of thinking about huge hospital and other medical bills as well as regular living expenses while I am unable to work -- and also the stress of not being able to accomplish what I am so passionate about doing for others," Mack wrote in a note on his GoFundMe page. "It is difficult and humbling to say that we need your help, but we do."

In a sick way, if he gets his bills covered by donations, he can use that as evidence that private charity played its role and even someone as desparate as him didn't need Obamacare in the end. Of course that's the wrong message since not everyone can capitalize off their fame (however limited) to solicit donations.

An extreme right-winger mugged by disease becomes a socialist begging for others to give him money.

Medicaid-Marketplace Overview

The Federally-facilitated Marketplace (FFM) is offering health coverage in Arizona in 2015. The FFM will make assessments of Medicaid/CHIP eligibility and then transfer the applicant's account to the state agency for a final eligibility determination. Arizona has expanded Medicaid coverage to low-income adults.

Medicaid and CHIP Eligibility Levels

To view the modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) (http://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid-chip-program-information/program-information/downloads/modified-adjusted-gross-income-and-medicaid-chip.pdf)-based eligibility levels, expressed as a percentage of the federal poverty level (FPL) and by monthly dollar amount and family size for Medicaid and CHIP, visit the National Medicaid and CHIP Eligibility Levels page (http://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid-chip-program-information/program-information/medicaid-and-chip-eligibility-levels/medicaid-chip-eligibility-levels.html) for more information.

that was true before ACA. so ... You Lie

There is, and has been for awhile, also "concierge doctors", about 6% of doctors, who accept only cash, will not deal any insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid. Nothing to do with ACA.

Congress has refused for years to increase funding for doctor education. well before ACA.

Limiting doctor supply vs increasing patient demand = increasing prices

AHA urges Congress to fund GME funding, expand residencies

sad that in a country such as the US people have to skip going to the doctor or forsake treatment just to avoid going bankrupt.

mostly because insurers (mal-practice a huge one...stop suing your doctor if you really aren't that hurt) and privatized hospitals/pharmaceutical companies. physicians have to pay ten cents on every dollar earned just to protect themselves from you suing them.

When I die I'm hoping to go out owing millions to businesses and the government...I'm gonna hide my money in offshore accounts so my future sons dont have to worry about creditors going after it....im gonna try and make sure I sell my house and cars before i die as well..and move into an old folks home..where my boys come visit me every so often...i will instruct my boys to put me in a 90%white old folks home so I can tap some old white pussy while I'm dying...

Doctor education? They are doctors for Christ's sake.

Limiting doctor supply vs increasing patient demand = increasing prices

You're not limiting doctor supply by refusing to fund them with taxpayer money. You just love using every logical fallacy in the book to try to make your points.

it is mandatory to buy private health insurance in the States. that's what the whole debate is about. they put a tax on it to cover insurance for those who can't afford it, so everyone is concerned over their premiums going up across the board. insurance is already way too expensive.
