This was pretty boring. Nice acting but I think they did a poor job on capturing how brilliant and groundbreaking his original ideas were. It seemed like something a stoner could have come up with.

I disagree with calling it boring. I thought it was a very good story, a sad love story too. Eddie Redmayne was great as Stephen Hawking and Felicity Jones was awesome as Jane Hawking. Jane put up with a lot of shit while she was married Stephen Hawking. It was an interesting story and had good acting.

Yeah...maybe boring was a little harsh. I was just hoping to see more about him as a scientist when it was obviously just what you said...a love story.

It was based on her book about their relationship. It's a movie about the man she married and not about the scientist. It's not the most exciting story, but the acting makes the movie superb.

agree on the acting. I groaned when he got the Oscar but after watching the move, I get it. It wasn't as easy as just going straight in to the wheelchair bound Hawking. The transition he made was pretty amazing. Not to mention the emotional nuances along the way. But not anything I'm going to watch again.
