"We're trying to go to the Finals for the third straight time," Parker said. "It's not just repeat. It's a third time to the Finals. It's hard. We went to the conference finals the last three times, seven times in 13 years. …No one is satisfied with our team.

"We always try to push for better. If I were satisfied, I would have relaxed when I was 29."

He's abandoned driving to the hoop for inefficient shots from 16<3P and so has Kawhi, and they are both suffering for it. Our starting 5 shot chart from last year was completely different then this year. Options 1a and 1b are competing for the same hunting grounds, midrange shots that are low percentage and almost never draw fouls, and it's forced TD to abandon his jumper and resort to the dreaded postup for most of his offense, while all of our shooters are shooting more pull-up shots from further out later in the shot clock. We are playing a pretty dumb brand of offensive basketball right now, and the offense only really pops when Manu is playing well, but at the cost one of our two best defenders, Leonard or Green.

In short, Tony is shooting too much and from bad areas on the floor and it's compounding his decline tenfold as well as getting in Kawhis way and mucking up the offense.

How many months to heal from old?

Tony is shooting fewer FTAs per 100 possessions than any year but his rookie year.

Meanwhile Kawhi's shooting % has declined from everywhere but 0-3 yet he's shooting a smaller portion of his Fa from there than any time in his career.

Why 29? Why not 28?

Hmm, i'd like to know what "relaxed" is for Tony Parker. He seems pretty relaxed right now. Also took a pretty significant vacation in the middle of the season last year.

The Spurs should do to Parker the same thing they did with Manu last year and bar him from playing in FIBA to give him time to rest his hamstring.

I predict he sits out 6 games, starting April 1st on back to back and then comes back to play the last 2 games in limited minutes.

But if Pop sat him out for 6 games like Carlise did for Jason Kidd,he might gain 10lbs.:elephant

Parker will never be his old self. That speed diminishes with age. He can still reach his stop speed, but he has to learn to do it with less frequency or he will always be having hamstring injuries.

What Parker needs to do is to developed his game more. He still has lateral quickness and speed to get open on the pnr. He is just to develop his passing game more from the perimeter. His days of taking it to the hole 15-20 times a night are over with IMO.

TBH I think his confidence is somewhat shaken from the hamstring injury. He wants to whip out his old bag of tricks but fears slipping on the bag. He will have to step it up soon if he feels better and for the Spurs to hold onto the 7th or 8th spot to defend their NBA title.

You can forget about TP resting in the offseason any time soon. This year he will play in the Eurobasket tournament because it's going to determine which teams qualify for the Olympics next year.

Which is why the Spurs need to force him not to do so, the same way they did with Manu. Play the injury card.

It's easy when there's something concrete on the MRI like Manu's stress fracture, not so much with a hammy.

"He has lots of miles over the last two years and he is one of the guys that only rests if he is hurt," one NBA advance scout told Yahoo Sports. "…He has not been making a lot of the layups and in-the-paint shots that he has in the past at a higher percentage.

"I don't think there is anything too dramatic in a drop-off of skills. I just think they are going big picture. His assists are down, too. His team is not shooting as well as we are used to."

But Tony didn't play the last FIBA World Cup and they won the bronze medal, many of those young players have improved a lot, Gobert, Fournier, Lauvergne...

Parker needs to pass. Stop dribbling the ball for a fucking hour. Move the ball. Drive and dish. Not that hard to not be a negative impact. If you have a shot then take it. Don't force anything.

Passes are a whole lot easier when there is the threat of a blow bye.
Its tough with guys right in your grill because they know you can't beat them.
If you can back them off and see the floor, it's really helpful.

Saying we we need to get back to a passing game is easy. Try passing the ball around with a team full of players that are no threat off the dribble is not easy unless you can really get good screens off the ball continuously, and even then it's still way difficult.
