View Full Version : Manu's next career

Manu always tells it like it is when he writes an article or is interviewed. I'd doubt if he'd do it, but I think Manu would be great as a national broadcast in studio TV guy or even a game analyst (with TNT, ESPN/ABC) when he retires. Can't you just see Barkley introducing him on his first broadcast!
With the game as global as it's become, the networks would be wise to look for an international player with his insight and intelligence to add to their national broadcasts.
What do you all think? If not Manu, what international player do you think could make this transition?

Pet Detective. He can help find the white bat 'Shikaka', a sacred animal of the Wachati tribe. He has experience with bats.

He'll turn to soccer and show Messi how Argentines win World Titles, tbh.

Not sure about Manu. Boris or Patty would be fantastic at broadcasting though.

We'll see, but I suspect he's going to devote himself in some capacity to ARG's basketball management... once he gets tired of that, anything is possible I suppose.

He´s got an all around mind.
Seems to be aware of other things that play a part in being a great player/organization/coach.
I think he would be a great fit ideally as a part of the organization, as he already said that he wouldn´t like to coach.
Most likely he declines a job here in San Antonio as he many times said that he wants his kids to grow up in his native town in Argentina. So most likely he can be useful either as a Scout or as a ambassador for the NBA and things like that.
I bet he will be involved in managing Argentina Basketball Confederation.

Nah, Manu is coming back to Bahia Blanca with all his relatives. Probably doing something that keeps him out of the spotlight.

Yep...Manu will have his options, I was just thinking with the game so global, it might be the next step for the media outlets like TNT/ABC/ESPN to secure a retiring big name international star for their broadcasts. IMO, Manu would be great at it, but I'd understand if he wasn't interested.
Really, the most likely international prospect to make the jump to behind the mic would be Steve Nash.

Really, the most likely international prospect to make the jump to behind the mic would be Steve Nash. I am not sure if English speaking Canadians would be seen as international per say, but Nash is well spoken. I think a Spanish speaking spokesperson would be a big deal for international cache. I hope he continues to do his blog or letters he does now after he retires. I'm sure many people would be interested in his insights for years to come.

Someone told me tonight Manu said he's not going to coach and at this point in time he's going to do some traveling with his family so I don't think you'll be hearing much about him after he retires.
