But you and the other guys say Kawhi is just a role player.

While people continue to deny his importance to this team, these type of threads about him seem very appropriate.

Without a doubt. The whole team needs to keep getting better though. Him included, but yeah man- only Duncan is up there with him in importance to the team on an individual level.

Then it's an amoeba effect for the rest of the guys on both offense and defense, to put it extremely crudely. They feed off of each other based on "The System".
No doubt they need everyone playing well, Porky's included, but they really need Kawhi focused and locked in during the playoffs for them to have any hope.

Sweet, I've been so busy I didn't even realise we were on a 4 game winning streak. Matches our second best streak of the season! Highest was 8 straight and only had one other 4 win streak. 3 tough games coming up next. Will be a great test.

Kawhi is not a superstar. He can't carry trams to wins by himself.spurs win with team basketball, and Tim has been the best player on the team this year. New spurs fans are shitty.

It appears Westbrick isn't one either then. Nor are Kyrie/Love based on past performance. Unibrow can't make the playoffs. Really, only Lebron guarantees a team of nobodies a playoff appearance.

And nobody's calling Kawhi a superstar. But no doubt, he'll be in the All Star conversation for years to come and you can write him into the All Defensive teams in ink for the rest of the decade on reputation alone. So hard for a wing to win DPOY though.

Kyrie love and Westbrook are all overrated. Kawhi is no lebron. Again tim has played the best all around basketball all year long.

Agreed on all fronts. Tim should be second team All NBA at worst - has been a stud this year and yet again has evolved his game when certain shots aren't falling. Kawhi is a top 25 player but has a way to go.

Would be interesting to see what Westbrook would do within a system or if he can even play within one. I'm positive any good coach would have won at least two titles with that team (and they may not have had to trade Harden) simply by installing an offense. Irving and Love - good facets to each of their games but also so many flaws. Sports talk radio crowd / All Star voting crowd love guys like that. I'm just glad that the market miss prices guys like that and even guys who are worse into max guys.

With the way they had been playing from mid December till the end of the RRT, you might have expected them to drop at least one of these and probably struggle in the other three. It's HOW they've won that gives people hope.

with all due respect Kawhii has been very fundamental but the return of MVPARKER is pretty cool too.

when people say Kawhi can't be the main guy, they are not denying his stats and ability. He's fine. Honestly, if you asked me who the spurs would miss more...I'd say Leonard over Parker. Shame that they've both been injured this year.

FWIW we saw the parker led spurs from 2010 to 2012 and it was good, but beatable. We needed Splitter and KAwhi for defense and we luckily got them! The kawhi led team is not here yet. Most smart people think he'll need help. I agree.

The Spurs have defeated 3 really bad teams and 2 really mediocre teams in the past 5 games, tbh..

Sacramento: 27th ranked defense
Phoenix: 21st ranked defense
Sacramento: 27th ranked defense
Denver: 26th ranked defense
Chicago: 13th ranked defense missing 2 of their 3 best defensive players(Butler and Gibson)

The next 3 games:

Toronto: 23rd ranked defense
Cleveland: 19th ranked defense
Minnesota: 30th ranked defense

This homestand is nice for the standings, the Spurs need to move up, but that's really all it is, unfortunately..Cleveland is the only litmus test on this homestand, and there are no defensive challenges to gauge anything during this stretch..

But these teams they were actually struggling against early in the season. Now they are blowing them out like they should be. I think that is what most people are noting. That is a good sign for this team any way you look at it.
