While that's true, were a top 3 road team and our tough part of the schedule IMO are these three weeks at home

I'll be as real as possible.
could lose to Philly, but might not...win?
beat Indy
will lose to GB
beat Titans
beat Skins
will lose to either Dallas/NO both on the road.
beat Atlanta
will lose to either Giants/Falcons, both on the road. (playing the Falcons twice in three weeks....stupid!)
beat the Buc's
13-3/12-4? I do see 11-5 before 14-2

Let's compare Newton to RW.
Wins
Newton has 35, Wilson has 39 (keep in mind Newton has played in more games)
Completion %
Newton at 59.2, Wilson at 64.3
TD'S/INTS?
Newton at 90/58, Wilson at 80/31
QB rating for a career?
Newton at 85.3. Wilson at 98.3
Pretty obvious it's RW and really not all that close. But, ya can't blame Newton, we won't find any QB who stacks up to that after three seasons and seven games.

Vernon Davis? A little bit long in the tooth, but I can see a lot of guys wanting to spend their last years here trying to get a ring with what we're building. I wonder what we'd give up for him? Anything higher than a 5th would make me uncomfortable.
I think a 4th or 5th would be realistic. It would help us for sure with the two TE sets, both running and passing-wise.
I read on a site Chicago fans said they were willing to trade Jeffrey for a 2nd and Funchess :lol
I'd honestly rather grab Davis.

Our nig KK starting to get noticed by the national media:
The Carolina Panthers double-dipped at defensive tackle in the 2013 draft, selecting Star Lotulelei with the 14th overall pick, and then coming back to grab Kawann Short with their second round selection. So far, this has proven more successful than the last time they tried that tactic—selecting Terrell McClain and Sione Fua in the third round of the 2011 draft—but it is Short who is starting to dominate like a first-round stud.
Star Lotulelei was supposed to be a do-it-all player at the position. He could stuff the run and rush the passer, and reminded many of Haloti Ngata when he was coming out of the draft. Short, though, is the player who has transformed into that image this season; he may not have Ngata’s 340-pound frame, but he has been a force against the run and pass this season, and was a destructive monster against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Short notched a pair of sacks, but also had seven additional hurries and a batted pass. The Philadelphia offensive line, which had been righting its season up until this game, was torn apart by Short, who split his time between the left and right side of the line (44 snaps at DRT, 25 at DLT), and contributed to the negative pass-protecting grade from each of the interior starters.
When Jason Peters went down for the Eagles and forced a re-shuffle along the line with Dennis Kelly coming in, things got even worse, and Short ramped up the pressure.
The drops (a ridiculous eight in total) won’t help reflect it, but this was arguably Bradford’s best performance of the season, despite the pressure applied up front and the struggles of those around him. He put several good passes where they needed to go, despite heavy pressure for much of the game (24 of his 54 dropbacks). However, he was not rewarded by his receivers making plays.
While Short tore up the Eagles, oddly enough it is Star Lotulelei, the player that was supposed to become the next All-Pro interior defender, who is struggling to live up to his teammate as he works his way back from a foot injury. He has yet to knock the quarterback down, much less notch a sack, and has just three total hurries on the season from 97 pass-rushing snaps. His run defense has also been below his better play, and the Panthers are waiting to really see the player they expected when they drafted him.
Whichever way you look at it, Carolina’s second attempt at upgrading their defensive interior was a far more successful one than their first, and the combination of Lotulelei and Short looks to have netted the team one star player and one capable starter—just like they expected. The only difference is that it is Short who has emerged as the star, while Lotulelei plays in his shadow.
Short has now moved ahead of Aaron Donald and J.J. Watt in our interior defenders rankings, and has done so with excellent grades as a pass-rusher and defending the run. He gives the Panthers defensive stars at every level, with Josh Norman in the secondary, and linebackers Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly also playing at an extremely high level. The team is now 6-0, one of five undefeated teams in the NFL, and has the kind of defense in place to compete come January.
Gettleman can draft his ass off, tbh

Panthers are a legitimately good teams. They win the games they're supposed to win. Mediocre teams (like the Raiders) will find ways to lose games they should win.
But even as panther fans you have to realize why people are skeptical of calling Carolina a "great" team or superbowl contender. Same reason why a lot of people here still doubt Cincinnati (though I'm more of a believer in them)

why are you in our thread just to shit on us week after week? no one is even having this conversation with you but you still come in every week as we keep winning to remind everyone unprompted you don't think we're a contender. odds your hater ass had us 6-0 through 6 games before the season: zero zero
we are the 2nd best team in the NFC, maybe the first best if we beat GB. That's a contender just like the '03-'05 panthers were contenders even if they never won the lombardi

Carolina is not ever gonna go the falcons/colts route of making big trades or sending draft picks year after year to load up on skill position players. Gettleman will not. It may be the downfall of this team but it hasn't so far. Gettleman is always going to prioritize the offensive line and front seven. We're never gonna be drafting high enough again for a while to grab a guy like Amari Cooper, so it's all a crapshoot with later round guys going forward IMO. Gettleman will see some DT or DE his fat jew ass likes no doubt and load up again :lol but he's pretty good at that.
IMO skill position players are overrated. Give me the stud OT over almost any WR coming out in any given year.

I don't think he's trolling, I think he loves himself some skill position guys. He sees :wow Julio :wow on one side and then :wow Freeman :wow and like most mainstream fans cum in their pants start dickriding teams weak in the trenches. Like last year when it was CAR@ATL to decide the division I laid down half a G on us because it was so apparent by then that Julio was worn to a nub like every year and their line was in shambles and that it would be a large victory. Somehow though all those guys and the Falcunts are only averaging 0.6 more points than us a game :lol
Mainstream media fans are just getting their first taste how potent the triumvirate of Norman, Luke, and KK are. Just need a couple more strong national television performances. If if if Delaire takes it to another level for the rest of the season, we will be in the superbowl. As it stands a merely mediocre pass rush instead of top 8 is our only missing piece...

Obviously we are going to lose soon. I would rather us take out Green Bay and lose to Washington or Tennessee than lose to GB.. but I would like us to at least get undefeated there.
Obviously getting Charles Johnson back will make us better, but honestly for his cap hit we don't need him anymore. Our defensive line is generating much pressure, and getting rid of him in the off-season will really help us bring in a marquee WR next year with the money we'll have.
SuperCam

I just can't envision Gettleman using the money to bring in a marquee WR. I think he thinks that he can develop Benjamin and Funchess well enough, and is going to want to use every last cent on making sure guys like KK/Star/Norman are inked. I think Gettleman's next big moves will be to find another pro-bowl caliber DE and Safety. Can't put all our eggs in one basket hoping Boston and Ealy pan out

N0 LyF3 ScRuB (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=43681), early line on the game is good guys giving seven. Personally I actually think that's a little low. If we're putting up 27 points a game against top 10 philly and seattle defenses, I could see us closing in on 40 against the putrid Colts D, especially given Luck's proclivity to throw INTs. And it sounds like their coach is teetering on getting canned, so that's not gonna help them. I'm thinking something like 37-13 final score, tbh.

The Panthers as a HF the last three seasons a gaudy 11-3-1, Colts as a RD in the same time frame 4-7. That's a 18-7-1 trend favoring the Panthes in this "spot".

Cam should play well, but we're not going to put up 40, tbh..
If anything we get a huge lead early and coast. But Luck isn't going to go out like that and he will mount a comeback. We should get the W here if we play like usual.

Coach Ron Rivera's quote from practice:
We're going to run the ball when we want to. We are going to run the ball when we have to. And we will run the ball when you know we're going to. This is a smash mouth, physical team, and no one will change our game plan.
It's true, Carolina runs the ball 48% of the time, over 4% more than Minnesota (43.8%).

SIX TRADES THAT ABSOLUTELY MAKE SENSE
Calvin Johnson, WR, to the PanthersThe thing that might make 1-6 Detroit want to move Johnson -- his high salary -- is also the thing that makes trading him very difficult. However, this is about trades I'd like to see, and Johnson to the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR) makes sense. 6-0 Carolina has obviously been pretty good, but the team needs a wide receiver, and I'm not sure how far the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR) can get without adding help. And while the 30-year-old Johnson might be picking up fewer yards per catch this season (13.3) than at any other point in his career, he would definitely qualify as help. Of course, Johnson's true value -- the face of the Lions (http://www.nfl.com/teams/detroitlions/profile?team=DET)' franchise would be worth a second-round pick at least -- is much higher than what the team could likely get for him on the market: something like a fifth-rounder, given the level of money involved. Perhaps the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR), who would also have to do some tinkering to make the numbers work, would do well to look toward Jeffery instead.

On the Panthers board, it was a pretty popular decision to drop Charles Johnson (and possibly Stewart) next year and spend that money all out on receiver help for Newton.
The only way this trade would work would be the Lions taking most of his cap, and Carolina in return feeding a high draft pick to Detroit - and probably someone like Devin Funchess. Not sure if I'm a fan of Calvin taking up a lot of cap next year.

Not a fan of tying up that much money in an aging receiver, tbh, when i'd rather put the money towards keeping josh, kk, star and our O-line. Given our running based offense i'd rather get a guy with great hands and good route running even if he's not a speed guy or downfield threat. A guy we could rely on for third down conversions. I think Gettleman should spend a 5th or 6th and grab Boldin for this year's run

Don't see it happening... I would like to. Don't even need a speed demon, just a guy who can run routes well and get open for 5-10 yards with sure hands, like Boldin. I get that gettleman wants to save picks and $$$, but we can't just assume we're gonna have all our guys ready to go next year and throw away this season. Well, a SF writer heard the Kaepernick and Newton comparison, so he decided to look at the film (wish more analysts did this) and he was astonished with what he saw. This is a great article for Panthers fans with Newton getting a lot of praise for his reads, pocket presence, and accuracy improvement.
http://www.ninersnation.com/2015/11/6/9678158/colin-kaepernick-and-cam-newton-arent-even-remotely-the-same-player
Quick-quote:
Cam’s willingness to sit squarely in the middle of the pocket allows Remmer to do what Staley should’ve been able to do on the play above, which is run the edge rusher (Chris Clemons) past the quarterback and out of harm’s way. When it becomes clear that Chris Smith is going to come free up the middle on the stunt, Newton doesn’t look to bail. He stands tall and delivers a strike to Ted Ginn over the middle on the dig route. Pull up any number of drop backs in which Cam is under pressure and you’ll see a quarterback who is comfortable sitting in the pocket until the last possible moment while delivering accurate passes without a ton of room to operate.Newton’s ability to work within the pocket makes an underwhelming offensive line look much better than it really is, but the bigger hurdle for him to overcome is the receiving corps he’s throwing to.
Greg Olsen is the only remotely reliable target on Carolina’s roster. Ted Ginn, Philly Brown, Devin Funchess, and Jerricho Cotchery are the Panthers’ most targeted wideouts. Think about that for a minute. At one point Ginn was the No. 3 receiver on a 49ers team with lackluster group of receivers, and he’s Cam’s go-to option on the outside. According to Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus, Ginn has dropped 23 percent of the catchable passes (https://twitter.com/PFF_Sam/status/661894528467513344) thrown his direction, which is awful, but not even close to the worst rate on his own team. Funchess has dropped 46 percent of catchable balls. Forty-six percent!
Many of these drops are happening in critical situations, and others are even deflecting into the hands of a defender for interceptions. Just watch some of these plays getting taken off the board due to inexplicable drops. Here’s Ginn dropping a would-be-game-winning touchdown in overtime against the Colts on an absolute dime under pressure from Cam…

We got the Skins this weekend. Apparently, they have been lethal with stopping TE's this year in the passing game. They say that statistic is skewed, though, because the only "elite" TE they've played, like Olsen, is Gronkowski. I still expect Olsen to have a big day.
We get Charles Johnson back next week for our game against Dallas on Thursday. Going to be tough to do 3 games in 11 days, but we can do it.
Kirk Cousins reminds me a lot of Bradford. Good completion percentage, but skewed due to short passes. We should see what kind of game this will be for him and the Skins early. If he throws a pick early, we got this.
The Skins have had issues stopping the run game, which obviously should work to our advantage.

Believe it or not it is better to get "a" loss out of the way soon, as silly as that sounds. No the Panthers/nobody is winning them all.
At this stage of the game we have teams who know they are in the playoffs vs teams like the Redskins fighting for their playoff lives. A loss for the Panthers no big deal, while the Redskins need all the wins they can get.

If you read the article it said Brady is better but that paying attention to passing numbers isn't telling the complete story and adding Newton's running game into account brings their impact on their offenses closer, with Brady still ahead but not by much.

Listen rookie. Seattle had the top defense in the league while the Panthers defense is good, but not at that level. The Panthers are more reliant on their offense, especially Cam in the running game, but especially in the passing game. The Panthers have the 3rd highest offensive efficieny in the league behind the Cards and Pats. While the Panthers the 5th ranked defense in efficiency, the Panthers offense, meaning Cam has been carrying the load this year. No real comparison to the Seahawks team which were hell bent on their defense and running game while RW made enough plays to help them win.

That's really not true. The Panthers offense has been the strength of this team, especially Cam. The defense is good, but the offensive is 3rd in the league in points per possession behind the Cards and Pats. while the defense is 5th. Cam has been the biggest reason for this team's success and it's not even close. If anything, Carson Palmer has done more for his team than anyone else. Thanks for noticing how efficient our offense has been. It's more apparent now than ever that that ankle surgery really did effect Newton last year. He has been unstoppable this year. He doesn't get the crazy stats because the way our offense is ran.
Our defense is pretty great. They've rallied this year without some pretty big pieces (Kuechly for 4 games, Star for 2, Charles Johnson for 7, etc.). They haven't closed out well, but really I think that's overrated because the games they struggled closing out were games against top offenses.
This team has so many weapons on defense it's ridiculous. There's literally a case for 7-8 players on that D to be in the PB.

That makes my point even more clear on how much Cam is doing for this team. The defense has had to deal with injuries all season which has affected the overall numbers. Sure the defense has been good, but the injuries earlier in the season took a toll on how dominant it could be. If it wasn't for Cam and the offense, this team wouldn't be 10-0.

What makes this run so special and not feel like a fluke is the circumstances. So many injuries to this team. Benjamin out all year, Kuechly out 4 games, Charles Johnson out 7. We've had so many injuries just to overcome them.
It feels so great seeing this team develop as a team. They are all young and have been through it all together. In 2013 they were dominant, just too young and inexperienced. In 2014 injuries just derailed the team. The losing made this team grow up and understand they had to work. Losing Benjamin made Newton progress and have to go through reads to make better plays. He was good with his reads last year, but far too often he'd force-feed KB. Kuechly couldn't even guard a TE two years ago. He had two picks today. How in the hell has Thomas Davis gotten better with age? He hits like a 18 wheeler. That CB Josh Norman, the best corner in the league? Not even the most interceptions on our team. Kurt Coleman has 5.
Hopefully we can stay healthy, because at this point it's the most important aspect. 5 games left with a 2 game lead. Sounds pretty good.

Well said tbh :bobo
Kuechly is 24 years old NLS... 24 years old, and IMO has surpassed Watt as the best defensive player in the league. A true franchise cornerstone on the otherside of the ball and we'll get to have him for years to come. He's become so goddamn smart about diagnosing plays he could probably be our defensive coordinator
There's so much talent on this team when you think about it. Cam/Greg/Kalil/Norwell/Turner/Kuechly/TD/KK/Star/CJ/Ealy/Josh/Bene/Coleman... this is by far our most stacked team, ever. And so many of those guys are young. We won't be able to keep all of them but with the way Gettleman has drafted and the staff has developed our players, it almost doesn't matter. KB will be back, Funch is coming on quick, Shaq is coming along nicely. There's such a bright future for this team. Hopefully we don't suffer any really bad injuries because for the first time I feel like we're in a position to compete for years to come unlike all the other eras where we couldn't string together back to back winning seasons.

I was listening to an interview the other day with some professional gambler, I don't remember who. Talked about the infatuation with the Cardinals and other teams because of points scored per game but doesn't believe it's a meaningful stat and that casual fans get fooled by scoreboard numbers.
They said no one is talking about it but an extremely predictive long term forecasting stat is give/takeaway differential. Carolina leads the league at +16 right now and only three teams are even in the double digits. We're on pace to finish with 23-24. No team to win the Superbowl the last six seasons has finished with a smaller margin than +7, and the average is +11. Oh and right now Cardinals still have a net zero differential margin
Long term most books have Carolina with better odds than AZ: http://www.oddsshark.com/nfl/odds/futures

Cortland Finnegan will surely get his first test against New Orleans. They are going to throw, and throw often. Definitely am a bit concerned with Finnegan getting big minutes. Great in coverage (not necessarily on 1 on 1) - but he has a huge mouth and gets lots of penalties. Hopefully being in a great locker room will nix that.
Newton has struggled the past couple years in the Saints dome. That's definitely a concern. Although it should be stated that our offensive line last year was putrid in that game. I think Newton can nix this jinx.
I think it will come down to the wire with Carolina winning a close game. 30-27 on a Gano field goal as time expires.

I saw the turnover differential thing earlier, and good point out.
Our defense is playing SB-caliber level football. I'm a little worried about our offense (Ted Ginn is a known choker, Stewart needs to stay healthy), but I think we can take it all this year. I only worry of the Broncos, Cardinals, Pats. But I don't fear them. I think we can take them all.

Ted Ginn: "I give all my success to Cam Newton"
Don't look now, but the Carolina Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR)' championship-caliber defense is matched with a championship-caliber offense. After Sunday's 38-0 whitewash (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2015121307/2015/REG14/falcons@panthers) of the Atlanta Falcons (http://www.nfl.com/teams/atlantafalcons/profile?team=ATL), Cam Newton (http://www.nfl.com/player/camnewton/2495455/profile) and Co. took the NFL lead in scoring at 31.6 points per game (411 total points; the Cardinals (http://www.nfl.com/teams/arizonacardinals/profile?team=ARI) are second with 405).
It's not just random blowouts that have the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR) averaging the most points in franchise history. Carolina has scored 20-plus points in every game this season.
Not only are they putting up prolific numbers, they are doing this all with Kelvin Benjamin (http://www.nfl.com/player/kelvinbenjamin/2543471/profile) out for the season and a receiving group that was a punch line three months ago.
After snagging two first-quarter touchdowns -- 74 and 46 yards -- Ted Ginn (http://www.nfl.com/player/tedginn/2507166/profile) Jr. knew where the praise should go.
"I give all my success to Cam Newton (http://www.nfl.com/player/camnewton/2495455/profile). Without him, there is no Ted Ginn (http://www.nfl.com/player/tedginn/2507166/profile)," he said, via the Charlotte Observer (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article49601495.html). "I can't say that vice versa. But we really, really have a nice thing going right now."
Newton put on another MVP performance Sunday, tossing the ball just 21 times (completing 15) for 265 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions and a career-high passer rating of 153.3.
Many fools in the anti-Cam MVP discussion will point solely to the quarterback's stats, as if football is played on a piece of paper. Well, here are some stats from the last seven games, when Newton has hogtied the MVP race: 62 percent completion percentage, 255.3 pass yards per game, 19-3 TD-INT ratio, 112.5 passer rating and three rushing touchdowns.
Without Newton, the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR) aren't undefeated. Without Newton, the Panthers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/carolinapanthers/profile?team=CAR) aren't close the the highest scoring team in the NFL. He might not be everyone's perfect quarterback, but there is no denying he's a winning quarterback. Every week Cam makes plays to get his team the W and throws that leave your jaw gaping:

We always hear about the speed of Ted Ginn Jr. So just how fast is he?
While in HS he was a 10.5 100m man and was a great hurdler, and if track had been his thing he would have done something at the NCAA level. There is no doubt he's faster than a 10.5, (Reggie Bush a 10.4 in HS) I have no problems going with a 10.35ish if he'd got serious about track after HS, maybe even a 10.2ish (Deion Sanders 10.26).
Ginn also ran on his HS4x4 team, which tells us he has some serious long range speed. Few hurdlers/100m sprinters want any part of a 400m, yep ,it hurts.
So when we hear...."he's one of the fastest players in the league"...yep, that's true. When we hear..."he has world class speed"...nope, that isn't true. "World Class" speed, is sub 10.10. Jacoby Ford 10.01, Trindon Holliday 10.00 had world class speed. The Raiders have had a half dozen guys with "World Class" speed, that's crazy.
There is no cornerback out there today that can run with Ted Ginn, actually in the history of the game only Darrell Green, Deion Sanders, Henry Carr (Olympic sprinter), Lenny Lyles and ...hmmm?....I think that's it. Could have ran with him.
Bo Jackson was a similiar case, he knew all along that football not track was his future so he put little into track. Bo has a 10.33 PR, if not for football he's a 10.15 for sure, which is freaky being a 220 pounder.
The fastest Panther ever was Michael Bates the KR, he was an Olympic 200m bronze medalist with a 10.11 100M PR.
Track and field[edit (http://www.spurstalk.com/w/index.php?title=Ted_Ginn,_Jr.&action=edit§ion=2&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)]
Ginn was also a standout track athlete for the Cleveland (OH) Glenville (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Glenville_High_School) track team. As a junior, he became the national champion in the 110 meter hurdles (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/110_meter_hurdles) and recorded the best time in the nation as a senior when he won the state title for the second consecutive year. He captured the state title in the 200 meters (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/200_meters) in a time of 21.51 seconds, after posting a time of 21.44 seconds in the preliminary rounds. He also helped the Cleveland (OH) Glenville (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/Glenville_High_School) track team to take the 4 x 400 metres relay (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/4_x_400_metres_relay) crown in a time of 3:15.04 minutes. He was timed at 10.5 in the 100 meters (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/100_meters) as a high school junior. As a senior, he ran the 60 meter hurdles (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/60_meter_hurdles) in 7.98 seconds, 200 meters (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/200_meters) in 21.16 seconds, 400 meters (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/400_meters) in 46.57 seconds and posted personal bests of 13.26w seconds and 13.40 seconds in the 39" 110 meter hurdles (http://www.spurstalk.com/wiki/110_meter_hurdles)[2] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-2)[3] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-3)[4] (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#cite_note-4)

- Kurt Coleman (8 INT's), Ted Ginn Jr. (800 yards, 10 TD's), and Jonathan Stewart (1000 yards rushing) aren't playing this weekend. We saw without Ted Ginn how much our offense struggled against ATL without him. If Newton is the MVP he will have to step up, but so will our receivers. That means Philly Brown, Devin Funchess and Jerricho Cotchrey. Trey Boston will start at safety... he looked pretty promising last year at the end of the year.
But no doubt I'm a bit worried. I still take our team over any team in the BoA stadium. I've embraced the underdog role.

Shit. TB doesn't really give a shit at this point but might like to fuck the Panthers over for HFA. Arizona has an easy one I'm pretty sure.

Jonathan Stewart, Kurt Coleman, and Ted Ginn Jr. are all practicing with full participation today. All are cleared to play.
Obviously the injuries that occurred with Bene Benwikere and Charles Tillman are my main concern for this game. McClain played well with his limited playing time, even getting an interception last week, and Finnegan has played well as the nickel for the most part. Still, they are going to be tested against a very good QB with elite playmaking abiliity. They will be crucial in getting a victory Sunday. Norman and Coleman should hold down Baldwin for the most part when he's not in the slot.
Another key will be our defensive line getting pressure on Wilson. The offensive line was not impressive last week against the Vikings for Seattle, but our aging defensive ends have not shown up before last week in a while. Whether you adapt that to Rivera's stinginess to play vets like Charles Johnson and Jared Allen over players like Kony Ealy or Mario Addison is debatable, but I think all four need to show up against Seattle. I have a feeling the vets will have a good game. Kawann Short had 3 sacks last game against Seattle.
Obviously Newton will need to play well, but another big match for us is the receiver group against the defensive backs for Seattle. I think Funchess has the toughness to get some catches, and of course Olsen will probably show Chancellors weakness against TE's this game, but either Ted Ginn or Philly Brown are going to have to show up to open up the whole field. Ginn will need to show up, something he has done, but not quite shown consistency in.
All this being said, I think we are the better team this year. Our defense has shown lapses, but have made that up with their amazing turnover rate. Our running game has been so productive this year and our offensive line is doing what they need to do to help. Throw all that out the window against Seattle. This one is a toss-up and frankly the team with the ball last will probably win the game. I'm going with Carolina in a close one.

There was Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers looking very average, it was....what's wrong with Rodgers...as they staggered into the playoffs. Then here come the playoffs, and a switch gets flipped. Aaron Rodgers has won a SB, he gets it.
Big Ben has won SB's, when it came time to win a game, he did.
Alex Smith is a far better QB than Hoyer, looked what happened.
Seattle has been in two SB's in the last two seasons, the Vikes haven't done anything recently, who choked?
These Panthers have never played in a SB, they don't have the same amount of THE BIG GAME experience, while Seattle is used to it, they expect it. We can't ignore this, that is a big deal. Don't get too caught up in 15-1, that was done vs the 27th ranked schedule in the league. Look at Houston/Washington, how did they make the playoffs.....weak divisions.
In the RW era, the Seahawks have owned the Panthers, 4-1, and that one was lost in the last 30 seconds without Bpbby Wagner playing. I gotta go with the team that has excelled in these big games and owns a 4-1 advantage.

In the CN era they are 1-2 in the playoffs. That pales in comparison to the 7-2 that Seattle has.
Did ya know Panthers are one of the worst teams in the league coming off a bye week? They just had a week off.
Now add the last time these two teams played in the playoffs(2015) Seattle wins 31-17.
So we have the Seahawks who are a more successful playoffs team playing a team they were 30 seconds away from being 5-0 against.
Seattle in this round of the playoffs.
2012...lost at Atlanta by 2 (lost inthe last seconds)
2013...beat Saints 23-15
2014...beat Carolina 31-17

Playoff experience and success does. Seattle has played in two SB in the last two seasons, Carolina not even close. There is a reason for that.

How many playoff wins did the Seahawks have before their first title, idiot. It has to start somewhere.
Man, you are stupid.

Well lets see little man...
2012..won 1
2013..won 2 before beating Denver.
So they had three playoff wins, that's two more than Carolina has.
What's stupid is ignoring the fact the Seahawks have owned the Panthers and are a far more experienced big game team.

The question was how many playoff wins before wnning the SB, that would be three.
The Seahawks lost a playoff game in the final seconds, then the following season they won it all.
The Panthers lost to the Niners in 2013, then beat the Cards in 2014 before losing to the Seahawks.
You see that as being similiar?

Jared Allen was very emotional about being deactivated for the game. He thought he could play today with a fractured foot. He will be there if we make it to the SB.
Jonathan Stewart will play with a injured ankle. He said it was minor.

He's the best, tbh..Rodgers could take back the title, next year, but he was pretty bad, this year(by his standards)..
Nobody else is really in the conversation..Brady is too old, and Rothlisberger has the same issues with inconsistency as Newton, despite having the best group of WRs in the NFL..

Rodgers/Newton will probably battle the title of best QB until the end of the decade imo, maybe apart from RW and a healthy Luck, the new age QB pool don't look too good

Loathe Rodgers and the Quackers, and I hope he goes down and is never the same.
Don't really mind the others. Cam is hella likeable, Wilson is wayyy too religious but he's not a bad person, Luck is eh, Bortles seems like a good kid, Cousins is fine with me, etc.
