They haven't officially signed Matthews yet is what I hear so if they take away his guaranteed and work it in for Murray they have a shot...however the guaranteed portion is what he wants and it's supposedly has to be near what McCoy got from the Bills.

Stupid. Murray fits even less into Chip's system than Shady.

I'm impressed at Jones having the resolve to keep from writing DM a blank check.

You can "expect" in one hand and crap in the other. Guess which one weighs more?

I'll believe it when I see it, but it is possible expecially what the previous poster mentioned about not have officially signing Matthews yet.

Very interesting though.

Seems to me to be just a contract negotiation ploy by Murray's people to get Jerry to pay more. I really can't see DM wanting to be an eagle.

Yet wasn't it Garrett who kept calling throwing plays on. 1st down in the 4th quarter when they needed to run clock?

it's gotta be Mariota at qb. Can't see Bradford running the Philadelphia Ducks offense.

He literally would have had a TD and given us a 2 score lead with like 6 mins to play. The loss is very much on him getting stripped on a weak ass, last ditch punch at the ball from Julius Peppers. Great play by Peppers for sure, but a properly secured ball wouldn't have popped out.

and why the shit would you try to run clock with a 1 possession lead.....

Well yeah, it's never one thing, always a mix, but that one play is a 14 point swing late in the game. There isn't a chance for a Dez omg catch or drop controversy if he doesnt fumble there.

It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. I don't understand what Philly is doing. I can understand Murray's frustrations and wanting a bigger paycheck. I thought he was using this as a ploy to get more money from Jerry, but now it's looking like that is not the case.

The while situation sucks. It's all about the money at the end of the day. Jerry fucked around way too long for an offer not to be made to a player like Demarco.

Demarco wants his money, can't fault him for that. He just shouldn't be expecting the same amount of success. The only way he can have success is if that system flukes out a few good games for him. Looking at what they have under center and catching balls, he's going to struggle big time.

Kevin Murray told The Dallas Morning News that though DeMarco feels "hurt" right now that the Cowboys haven't made a stronger offer to keep him, his son hasn't made up his mind yet on where he will play next season.
"My impression from talking to him this morning is that he loves his coach, he loves his teammates and the Dallas fans," Kevin Murray said, "but he's just hurt that something hasn't happened to lure him not to take the trip right now."
Kevin Murray said his son is still wrestling with the decision on where to play next season and "absolutely" he hasn't closed the door on the Cowboys. Kevin Murray said his son plans to give the Cowboys another chance to make another offer before he makes a final decision.

That O line was the big difference IMO, he is good but that line was vicous. They know they can plug someone behind that line and get 1400 out of him, probably Randle or someone else in the draft. Keeping Dez was the big part IMO and they did.

That's not how it works. You can't plug anybody behind a good line and expect big numbers.

I think it was a wise move by the cowboys to let Murray go. If Jones locks in and signs Murray to the contract he wanted, they're handcuffed to make any more moves this offseason and might likely lose Bryant next year.

If he does leave, the cowboys definitely won't be able to completely replace his production.

but do they really need to? If they can get just decent run production from that position, i think they'll be in the same spot as last year.

No need to overpay him.

Denver used a zone blocking scheme which included illegal blocks etc. Still doesn't mean those RBs didn't have talent. When did I say the line was not how it works? I said your assumption that you can plug anyone behind that line and get Demarco numbers doesn't necessarily work. It's not that easy.

On another note, whomever they get at RB has to be able to pick up blitzes and not get Romo killed, while being able to catch out of the backfield. Melvin Gordon is a beast. Would be a nice get.

Okay, we agree then. I agree the back has to have some talent as well, who knows if Randle does? He has never been a full time starter so that part is unproven. Dallas did the right thing IMO letting him go for that money, if they can get AP or a good back in the draft they should be fine IMO.

With the success the Seahawks are having, the league is realizing what a stud running game can do. Yes they have gotten away from the basics, I look for things to start going back to those basics. We will see more and more teams running the ball, drafting RB's, trying to sign backs.

Andrew Luck is the perfect example. What if he were in constant third and two? Think about that. Now look at the success Russel Wilson is having.

In case ya don't get it.

It's not about not passing the ball, ok? There's where ya get yards in chunks, it's about putting yourself in the best situation to throw the ball, ok? That isn't third and long, ok? You wanna throw on first down and in short yardage..."will they run or pass"...situations. Not in obvious passing situations, that's why ya need that running game. That will put you in that third and two and has the D guessing...ok?

Yeah, because Philly was the only team interested in him.

Why does that matter? He's a grown man and a free agent.

He doesn't owe any 'loyalty' to a team that showed their 'loyalty' by trying to severely underpay his market value. It's a business.

lol @ suggesting Melvin Gordon as a replacement...Wisconsin RB's are like Big 12 QB's in the pros. Cowboys made the right move, and Duke Johnson is the best RB of this class...at his current draft projection some team will get great value. If I'm the Cowboys I go after him

Dallas actually has a good coaching staff and the FO seems semi-competent since Stephen took over.....hence us not overpaying skill positions and focusing on trenches/defense.

that doesn't sound like the cowboys tbh
Offense: $77,688,725 Defense: $43,641,495 Special: $5,597,000

by comparison, here is the seahawks number
Offense: $47,695,918 Defense: $66,635,610 Special: $5,260,000

Hmm I wonder how the Patriots look

Offense:*$70,608,888*Defense:*$51,548,257*Special: *$5,610,500

Neat, so that proved nothing.

Another thing to watch for is, with the way DeMarco ran it last year, it kept the defense off the field and fresh for the most part, as the Cowboys were number 1 in time of possession. Will be interesting to see.

it proved that the cowboys pay more for the offense than the team that traditionally has the best offense. Also, consider that the pats just freed themselves of 16M from revis..

So? The Cowboys had a lot of young players on defense. So they'd still be cheap. Plus they let Durant walk and I think McClain is still to be signed......so it's dumb to use those numbers to try and prove anything when teams don't have their full rosters yet and FA just started.

Also just saw Murray say that his reason for going to the Eagles is because it gives him the best chance for a super bowl. Fuck you Demarco Murray. If it wasn't for your faggoty hands and grip, you wouldn't have fumbled and we would have probably been in the super bowl you fucktard. You're gonna get injured again, you're never going to have the same success that you had in Dallas, fuck you and good riddance.

:lol why you mad at DeMarco? Jerry is the one who gave Miles Austin that 7 year contract that still counts 5 mill against their cap. DeMarco got his worth. Why would he come out and publicly say it is about the money?

I'm not mad at him so much for leaving but for saying he left because they have a better shot at a SB when he played a huge part in costing us a chance to go to one. I mean they didn't even make the playoffs.

Been a long time since we saw as many quality backs on one team as we'll see with the Eagles in 2015. If Matthews is cool with his new role it will work, if not...........

He plays a position that probably takes 10 years off your life, tbh:lol..RBs should get all the money they can possibly get, it's the only way the abuse is somewhat worth it, obviously..
