It never fails. And why are we always at the losing end of these damn "historical" games?

imo, offensive/pure talent takes over in close games. who is better kawhi/parker or kyrie/lbj? Same as durant/russ. if we had 05 manu and tim then no question we win these games. we really have no go to guy these days.

I think part of it is that they know they will get national attention since the Spurs have been hailed a great team during the Duncan era. I think the other reason applies to guys in a contract year. They tend to go off ala Reggie Jackson in hopes of inflating their value come free agency time.

Because one has to be really really good to win against the Spurs.

It's always been the case. Even before this year. This season is more extreme though since it's a team effort, instead of one scrub going off.

They don't. This is the first time anyone has scored over 50 against the Spurs in the Duncan era. AI scored 46 once but that was ages ago(1999) and his team lost.
