I know many people here hate watching him play basketball nowadays, but has anybody reached the point where they actually find it humorous when he checks in, tbh? :lol..
I used to get annoyed when he would check in the game a few years ago, but I now find myself laughing whenever he enters the game, it's like Pop is clowning the opposing team:lol..
He's sooooooooo fucking slow and awkward on the court nowadays:lmao..
Anybody else find it funny, or do most of you still find it annoying?(I know SpurPadre probably wants to break his screen when he sees it:lol)..

Ya, you've been the biggest Bonner fan here for a long time, have to appreciate your loyalty, tbh:lol..

Its frustrating granted he always sucked during the playoffs but atleast during the regular season he used to be able to knock down shots when he was wide open. Now when he's open its a sure miss like last night when he tossed up that ugly 3. Its amazing how Pop was able to use him as a decoy last year against OKC to counter Serge. Bonner even sucked in that series when he was wide open a few times but OKC for the most part was too scared to leave him open.

That probably says more about Scott Brooks, to be fair:lol..

Splitter can't play 30 minutes?

That's true I will never forget the run the spurs made in game 4 with Cojo and Bonner on the floor it seemed to make Brooks afterwards become super paranoid despite winning that game. I do wish Bonner could hit his 3's they always seemed to be like game breakers for the opposing team. That was the only positive he used to bring to the table.

Oh yeah, I've had a few close calls with that. It's gotten worse over the years. If I develop stomach ulcers, I'm blaming that piece of shit and would consider suing his ass, tbh.

Bonner, Baynes, and to an extent Belinelli are Pop's version of regular season training wheels tbh.
Although I will say Boris hasn't been much better.

How could a fan think putting a shitty player is funny? Maybe if they are up by 20 in the 4th. Then it could be, "damn...Spurs were beating them so bad that even Bonner got in".But the only people thinking it's funny that he gets subbed in during crucial times are the other teams fans.

Honestly, Bonner shouldn't be in a game against quality opponents. I just really wish the FO added a player who could have helped us in a playoff run. Any player that could have gave us anything positive.

Nice guy & all, a little surprised he's still part of any NBA roster at this point... should have retired after last yr's title, hopefully this is his last... need to give some of the younger guys more playing time instead of watching from the bench :(
Did AB even play a single min last night?

You notice the less of him we saw in the playoffs the last few years the further the Spurs went? Coincidence?

Anyone know why he played instead of Baynes in the Cavs game? I don't mind Bonner getting minutes, but in an overtime loss, it kind of sucks.

Nice guy bad skill set. His limitations ( easpecialy def) would sometimes bother me but he does play smart. What has allways driven me mad is watching the man not rebound, with his size and position dude should be getting more then 1 or 2 rebounds a game.
Watching an opposition guard snatch a rebound from him get old real fast.

Lol people defending this fucker for years
Now he is just flat out useless.
Now? Saying now gives the impression he ever was. The man has hit two...two.... notable threes in his entire career with the spurs, and they were within seconds of each other. That's pathetic from someone who's touted as a dead eye shooter and its considered to be his biggest asset.
We've rehashed over and over everything else he sucks at.

Sorry, he used to hit some threes during the regular season and I still was not a fan so I agree he has been bad. I agree on his threes he hit as well that were notable, the Memphis game one and that was his shining moment (011) and we lost the damn game, shows you even in his good game where he is actually hitting it's still a curse :lol I remember his game against the Heat as well regular season where he had quite a few threes and the Spurs were up big on the newly formed Heat, that is one I remember and besides that?
I agree on all fronts, truth.

I remember in 2011 Game 1 when Matty hit b2b 3s to give us the lead and momentum. He had his moment of glory until a certain player on the team started hero balling.

Yeah. I only count the playoff Memphis game. All the regular season stuff is just a matter of odds playing in an 82 games season. Everyone will eventually have a good game.
I remember a Boston Sunday afternoon game he went hard in. It's sad that even the regular season good games are that short of a list. He's just a big pu*** that's afraid to shoot. How pathetic is that when that's his "strength". :lol.

He's been done for almost 10 years now. A couple years back, I'd turn the game off when he would come into the game. Now I just watch because it's amusing how turned on Poop is when Boner is in the game.

Pop has had this inexplicable fondness of Bonner for years that goes beyond the court. I have little doubt that he'll be offered some kind of assistant coaching gig for the team as soon as he stops playing.

Once a player becomes part of the coaching staff, can he still participate with the other players during practice drills/games? Or, is that not allowed under NBA contracts/rules?

yeah I always crack up when I see Bonner enter. part of that is the collective sigh from ST, but it's also just him. Bonner has his flaws but he's tough, he got his nose broke in one game and was ready to come back in. Plus he's a good system/glue type imo.

thanks for posting, one of my favorite gifs. Parker being kind of douchey (shocker) and Bonner making the most of it.

Hey its amazing Matt Bonner actually out-fought a guard more than 5 inches shorter than him for a rebound. If it wasn't on tape I wouldn't believe it.
Yes anytime Bonner hits any shot I yell some derivative of his name that sounds close to "boner" and laugh hysterically. The most awkward redhead dude bombing three's on your team with one of the ugliest jumpshots of all time and there's nothing you can do about it. It's awesome.
