I will be visiting in a month for an extended weekend and am looking for restaurant/bar suggestions. I will be mostly in the northwest area in Cypress but if something is really great elsewhere I'd still like to hear about it. Not a nightclub person but still like to grab a beer at a local bar. The people I'll be with and I are all well into our 30s and older so age appropriate bars would be great. Anyone been to Piqueo or Masones Bar and Grill? Those are a couple places I heard about.

Hopefully the Rockets will have home games that weekend for the playoffs. Might try to hit up an Astros game as well.

Any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. Also too many Thai, Korean places to name. Decent food might be the only tolerable thing in that shithole.

There's a Frenchie's Chicken near my place that opened up a couple of months ago. No one has been shot there yet, so it's some classy ass shit.

I've gone to a couple Pappas places before, the BBQ restaurant right in downtown and Pappas Seafood. Is there a Pappas steakhouse in the northwest area? I am certainly open to some good BBQ too. Last time, I went to Rudy's. It was good, but I'd probably like to try a different place this time.

The only place that I have to go to is Lupe's. I really like their fajitas. Every time I'm in Houston, I try to hit that place up. But I'll be there 5 days so other than Lupe's, I want to try a couple other different places.

If you really want some amazing BBQ you can take I-10 west to Luling to try City Market. Note there is a restaurant in Houston called Luling City Market, but it's an imposter stealing the name of the legendary place in Luling, and friends who have been tell me it's so-so. Still, the real place is a two hour drive so I guess you'd have to really want BBQ I guess. Their sausage is incredible, and it and the brisket always worth the one hour drive east from San Antonio to me.

I don't live there so I don't remember where Pappas Steakhouse is. I'm sure there are some great BBQ places there so you should try something other than a chain for that.
