Best player on the team. Willed us to a win and made sure Parker didn't drag us down.

:lol he probably stopped giving a fuck immediately after hearing Ibaka was out, tbh..he was being guarded by some goofy White boy, and they have 2 White men defending the paint, too..we could have probably scored 20 tonight with that interior D..

In all seriousness: the only thing holding Kawhi back (and by "holding back", I mean keeping him from truly breaking into the top echelon...like top 3-5 players) is his ball-handling.

Dude has some seriously underrated court vision, basketball IQ, and passing abilities. It's really impressive to see some of the plays he makes. The only issue is his ball-handling. He's still mediocre in that aspect. People compare him to Pippen...but he has nowhere near the ball-handling abilities Pippen had.

Obviously he's still an amazing player, and he's only 22/23...but god damn, if he can improve his ball-handling :wow

Kawhi is the best. His 14 points were the most important points of the game. If he would have made that free throw he would have been halfway to his first 30 point game.

Don't worry, when Kawhi can get 14 attempts in 20 minutes like other players on this team and he can have more playing time like many of young SG/SF in the league, he'll score more.

However, in some games of this season his points were the most important to win but I can't remember you saying something about that. Rare?.

He's about 3 years away from his prime, I can see him getting better at ball handling in that time.

People compare him to Pippen but he's a lot bigger and stronger than Pippen, bigger than most guys people compare him to which makes him unique. When you're that big you can just create separation with bodily contact, bully ball, you don't really need great ball handling skills to create separation.

5 FGs, 5 REB, 5 AST is a "dominating" game for Kawhi? Lol.

Hahahaha surely Kawhi will hit the 30 mark at some point. And surely he will one day be an All-Star in the National Basketball Association. One day he will make an All-NBA team. Until then, he's a really really good defender.

In only 20 minutes? Yes, most of SF's in the league have 5 rebounds and 5 asts in + 30 minutes.

He played less minutes than Tim and Tony, so they seem pretty stats for his limited playing time.

Yeah... he isn't the reigning Finals MVP, the best scorer on his team, the 2nd best rebounder, leads the league in steals per game...top 5 two way player.

Your "just a really good defender" reminds me of...Hoops. And trust me, it is not a a compliment.

What would OP be deflecting from? Kawhi dominated and won the game for the Spurs, as did Duncan, Green, and Diaw.

I think he will. He's added so much to his offensive game from his rookie season to now, you can tell hes a gym rat. Ballhandling/driving is the next step in his evolution tbh.

-3 pt shot
-bully post-game
-added fadeaways to post game
-added face up moves to post game
-became a good midrange shooter
-added pull-up jumpers to midrange game
-started using those pull-up jumpers in transition
-starts fastbreaks after a defensive rebound instead of giving the ball up
