DALLAS – A new player has joined the Dallas Mavericks.


Dirk Nowitzki and his wife, Jessica Olsson, have a new son. Jessica gave birth to a boy Tuesday morning. German media is reporting the boy's name is Max.
It's the couple's second child. They had a daughter, Malaika, in 2013.


Nowitzki did not attend the Tuesday morning shootaround, but Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said Nowtizki will play tonight against the San Antonio Spurs.
