[[[The Rocks dad, Rocky Johnson on Pipers Pit.]]]
Can't beat it. It's the accent that drives it, holds it timeless.
& Piper was an excellent actor. He carries Johnson here. Johnson looks at the camera(man). You can't do that. Piper doesn't do it. Never. That's an art, whether it's film or rasslin'. Piper spreads his legs so we're involved in the whole kilt thing without him announcing we are. He just does it, naturally.
My heart soars to see it again.

Piper was a genius; I'm an easy mark tbh. I grew up with his "face" days, but he was a terrific heel and capable of drawing tremendous heat with ease.

Yep, you hit it...with "ease." And by God it looks easy, but, it ain't. That's talent. That's skill and focus and dedication to one's craft. And work, work, work. What we see if the finished product. We don't see all the work. We're not supposed to. That is their gift to us.
And he doesn't rush it after Johnson hits him. He does not go too quick. So, when he does go it's shattering. You think it's real even though you know it's not. Your sub-subconscious recognizes it as real. And that's our joy.

The day I found out pro Wrestling was actually pro Rasslin'
I was around 12/13, and a big fan (still am) back then I thought it was the real deal. So there I am on a Wednesday night doing what I did every Wednesday, ride my bike (couple blocks) over to my grandmas to watch the wrestling (from Fresno) with her and her spit can (snuff). She loved the wrestling.
So theres Sir Alan Garfield vs Danny O' Rourke, they work a nice polite clean match. After the boring affair, the announcer Walt Harris interviews both of them appauding them for a nice clean scientific bout.
So on Friday the family will drive to Modesto to spend the weekend with some family.
My cousins were also big wrestling fans, so there we all sit with our popcorn watching BIG TIME WRESTLING from Sacramento, (Saturday, with the show taped on Friday) so here comes Sir Alan Garfield he'll be facing Danny O' Rourke, yep, hold for hold, the exact same match I'd seen from Fresno, (freaking my cousins out by...I bet he'll do this next, ha~~~~~~~) Then after the match there's Walt Harris calling them over to.......
Sad day.
So when I started watching the Rasslin' with my son Mason I wasn't going to teo him it was all fake, so I played along knowing he'd finally figure it out or read somethng on the internet. So years went by me playing the part, until one day it hit me.......he doesn't want to tell me it's fake.....ha~~~~~~~~

You do know the rasslin' world in 1962 was a lot different than what we see today, right? Let me guess you're too stupid to know that.
