The Lunar Goddess – Pedestal
I hold your hands and look at your face
The creator’s finest work. A masterpiece.
I softly rub your cold white skin and beg to mold some more.
Your closed eyes.
I take them for quiet consent.
Your legs bend but not with ease.
Shhhh. It’s OK. My love is such that effort is meaningless.
I put you on a pedestal. This creation that I yearn to touch.
I pray one day that you, I, and creation will be together.

I derived my poem from Groove Coverage's song of the same name, what's the origin of your poem though? I spent almost two hours composing my poem, which you can even sing out with the right tune tbh.

I guess it's loosely based on the Golem from Jewish folklore. But that's really a comparison after the fact. It all came from within. Time spent doesn't always equate to a deserving work either. Inspiration can come in mere seconds. Often it's hard to even get the words on paper as the thoughts and feelings come and go so quickly.

Don't you ever experience that? Or are all your works created over long periods?

it pretty much depends on the tune imho. for example, I find it much easier to write lyrics based on the tune of a classic song, like those Michael Jackson's, it takes less time, and it sounds better too. It's a waste of your time and creativity to write lyrics for a shitty tune tbh, and that's why I often select those songs carefully.

Hmm. Interesting. I didn't realize that yours went with a tune.
