just fucking awful and reminds me of the NBA.com change in 2012. More pandering to the tablet using fags.

Nothing could be worse than their old layout. Slow JS frames loading all over the place. Faggot-ass videos auto playing. HTML4 bullshit. This is an upgrade, albeit slight.

Miss just going to the site, see all the news on the right and all the scores on top without scrolling.

Smart move though, change the website look on April 1st to say it was a joke if there's too much negative feedback.

I actually don't mind the new-look site. I like how they've added more stats and facts to the front page, and the headlines are much better organized too.

I don't usually, but I do have ESPN as my homepage because they do the best job of displaying scores.

:vomit: so much wasted space. This is what happens when the majority of browsing gets done on mobile devices.

New ESPN >>>>>> Old ESPN

Seriously, you guys liked that old terrible layout built for 800x600 displays? Ugh. It was among the worst sites on the entire internet. This isn't good, it isn't even average, but it's better than what they had.

The old format smashed everything into the middle of the screen. I bet I had 6" margins on each side, if not more.

The new version is light years better. There should actually be two portals for espn: stories page and scores page. But I'll take clean and orderly blog style over the black red and green diarrhea style of old espn.

Just give me the news without having to watch a video.

I dunno if it's just cuz I'm using adblock and ghostery, but there are huge sections of whitespace being wasted.

There's are small but useful white spaces at the top left and top right, why not run the scores over to them?

There's only a single piece of information on the right side of the screen--the "Now" section, but it's like 20% of the screen.

Why put a "Top Events" dropdown at the top left, prime real estate, when you can just click on the sports directly?

I don't care about "Favorites" or "Suggested" so that's another 20% of the screen wasted.

But yeah it still manages to be better than the garbage old site.

EDIT: Ok I disabled adblock and there are just large piles of ads all over the place. The menus at the top are still wasted space though.

The new site loads a lot faster than the old one, which had shitty Flash stuff that kept hanging and crashing.

New site FTW.

I like everything other than the "endless scrolling" that seems to be on every mobile friendly site now.

well the alternatives are more ads or the worlds shittiest comments. I'll take infinite scrolling.

Meh. The only time I go to ESPN is to get the college basketball and college football scores. As long as I can still get those I don't care about the changes.

Anyone have an alternative link that gives me updated boxscores from currently playing games without the fucking flash or HTML5 and the other extra crap?
