even assuming he did say that, if it was a few weeks back, he may have changed his mind already.

Outside of Timmy and Manu, they're not old at all. And neither of them has to truly carry the team anymore

We got much better and more consistent through March. They've had a few hiccups lately and lost close games, but they've also done some serious damage to other teams in blowouts.

Hopefully the improvement will continue through the April reg season games and no one gets hurt. If so, the Spurs will be one of those teams that no one wants to play in the playoffs. Odds are always against any one team going all the way, but though still longshots, their odds in Vegas have probably dropped a little recently.

spurs being old is the biggest myth in the NBA

Spurs are still a long shot to repeat, tbh..

I was one of the few here that predicted they would win the West the past 2 years while most were cliff-jumping about losing to "elite teams" during the regular season, but I'm not too confident in this year's team, in all honesty..

They seem to lack the sharpness and just merciless level of execution that last year's team had. Tim looks more like 2011 Tim than 2013 Tim right now, and Manu and Patty have taken a nosedive in their level of play. But one thing that the Spurs have this year that they didn't necessarily have last year is a confident and more versatile Kawhi. Personally, I think that Kawhi's improvements can cover for Timmy's decline from last year, but the bench is still a concern.

One thing is certain. If Manu and Mills aren't going to play up to par this postseason, then Tony HAS to play better than he did last playoffs. The Spurs can't afford to have 2 of their big 3 playing subpar ball, even with Kawhi's ascension as an All Star level player.

They can do it, stay healthy, cut down on turnovers, play some solid D and move the ball..if any of those elements are missing on a regular basis than the young hungry WC foes will cash in
