The Big 3 need 5 wins to tie and 6 wins to become the winningest trio in NBA history, they have 6 games remaining, do they get it done?

We are the big 3, though?

BillMc

Doubt it. We'll probably lose at least one game, and we may rest some of our Big 3. Next year, I think, if Manu and Timmy come back.

We already have the the trio :toastplayoff record, though!

Apparently OP is either Ginobili, Parker or Duncan.

Last year at that time, I was pretty certain Timmy would leave (and Manu with him). When we reached the Finals, I was like 99% sure.

This year, I don't see him leaving.

Isn't it 6 wins to TIE the Celtics? Manu needs to come back next year to break this record and make it UNREACHABLE (in today's NBA - maybe Durant, Westbrooke, Ibaka have a chance). Duncan seems like he'll come back - he's always said he'd play as long as he's effective and he's more than that.

Yes. It's 6 to tie. They'll have to come back next season to take the record outright, even if they win out this season.

I did the math by hand and got 5 to tie. Is there a site where you are getting that info?

Page 6 of the Spurs Team Notes before yesterday's game showed 533 wins for the Spurs trio and 540 for the Celtics trio: http://www.nba.com/gamenotes/spurs.pdf

At some point they'll update those game notes, but at the moment they still have yesterday's.

Hmmm, Ill check my math if this becomes more relevant and they win 5 or 6 of the remaining games

No. Just regular season counts.

The Spurs trio already has the all-time winningest post-season record.

The records keep coming. It's incredible to see the Big 3 continually rack-up new records, but its bittersweet at the same time knowing Duncan and Manu will be gone within 2 years.

The Celtics' trio won 3 rings but the Spurs of Duncan, Parker, Ginobili won 5...which makes the record even more than amazing. Love these guys, the most successful Big 3 in the NBA history.

2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014. According to my calculation, 1+1+1+1=4. You might be right in a few weeks though

So good they landed Kawhi at the back end of their careers after carrying RJ/Bogans/Finleys corpse they would have been wearing down quick.

If Parker misses tonight's game with that achilles injury, it'll officially rule out the possibility of them passing Bird/McHale/Parish this year :depressed

He should come off the bench and play 5 seconds tbh (if he's injured)

Even if Tony plays and the team wins it all, they will only MATCH that record...

Let's hope Timmy and Manu come bck at least 1 more season!

Someone should go check manually, I did and got that we are tied but maybe my math is bad. We passed the lakers trio when we played the lakers last year, thats when I started adding the wins up.

I have tracked all year the spurs are at 539 one game away from tying. No matter the outcome on the past fame the record only gets broke if Duncan and Manu return next year.

I can see Tim coming back next year the way he's playing but I don't think Manu does. I was just thinking tonight tonight may have been the last regular season home game for Manu.

No way in hell we 3peat. Tim and Manu need to go out in style if we get 6, imo. Don't want the last memory of them to be getting bounced in the 1st round.
