That surgery fucked him. He couldn't shoot at all until the middle of the reg seasons.

The worst part is you can tell it's really affected his confidence. When he starts missing his shot, he hangs his head. And for a shooter, confidence is everything. Hopefully in these last 5 game he can start to find a rhythm, cause we're really going to need him come playoffs.

It's the missing piece from last year, more than anything, tbh..

Having several shooters and energy players playing together in the Spurs system puts so much pressure on the other team..it's a missing element, right now..

The PG position in general has been a worry for the Spurs, all year..

It sucks that Mills blows now tbh, he was one of my favorite players to watch. These days it's like watching the worst of Gary Neal... I don't think he'll be able to pull it together this season which really blows, both because he was such a big part of last year AND Cory is a RFA after this year.

Dont think it will be the difference in ringing this year tho

Hasn't he had a few solid games? I swear it felt like he was coming back for a lil while but he's been sucking these days.

Yeah, last year when he came off the bench it was like shits about to go down. We're about to extend this 10 point lead to a 20 point lead. And yeah I doubt are title hopes hang on mills but he was fun to watch.

Mills has been back for quite awhile, tbh. I don't think he's going to play any better this season. He's even bricking against 3rd stringers these days.

I agree, someone tried to say Rust on another board and I said he has been back for months now it's not rust. That is laughable to even think of.

yeah, not familiar with his injury but maybe he needs to re-tool his shot. Chip should be able to help him in the off season.

Do Yall play basketball? You can't just be a good shooter. And by a good shooter I mean someone like manu who usually hits more than he misses. The way mills shot the ball last year is way above the norm and to achieve that level of skill takes hours upon hours of repetition and practice. Mechanics have to be perfect and any break even a small one can throw off the mechanics which leads to missed shots which leads to lost confidence. Mills will be fine but not till next year after a long off season of work.

Yup. He's been benched due to his defense a couple of times so hopefully he picks it up on that end as well.

Huh? Are you functionally retarded? You said you thought something more than rust was wrong with him. It's not. You just literally need months and months of practice to be where he was last year and he hasn't got that this year unfortunately. He'll be fine but not till next year. Seeing some balls go down may boost his confidence and put him on a hot streak but to be as consistently automatic as he was last year is going to take many many more months of work.

His arm was put back together differently. It's not the same. It doesn't work the same. He should be playing a lot to get used to the new arm. No telling when it will all come together.

He's a shooter. I think if he gets time he'll come up big. I have faith in Patty. I do miss him just draining threes like last year. Cojo playing pretty well though. Patty may not get a chance.

I miss the old Mills too. Guy was a lightning rod off the bench.

Patty should feed his game from his defense, it should start here... on offense take what defense gives... important should be to build confidence upon defense, ease offense giving the ball early, make you open and available for your teammates

We may not see 2014 Mills until next season. Fortunately, Joseph has shown the ability to make valuable contributions of his own.

The point being: rotator cuff injuries take a slight bit longer to come back from than you think. Rust stage is not over, contrary to what you might believe.

This is the krew that holds our guys to playing their absolute best every game. News flash: Parker's probably not going to give you a 2013 WCF performance every series (25/10/4/2 on 53%). Mills probably won't play at 2014 Finals level very often (57% from 3PT). You have to realize the Spurs were playing at historical levels in those series. Give it time chicken little.
