You're overreacting. We're winning aren't we? If your championship hopes hang on your backup PG you weren't winning shit anyways. What cojo doesn't give on offense he gives on defense and hustle. He can hit shots when he is confident. Pop never should of benched him for Mills this season. He was playing solid ball.

Do you not remember how important our backup PG was to our success in the playoffs last year, tbh? Patty was huge. We absolutely relied on him to play well when he was in the game last year. If/When we play better teams like GSW or CLE or whoever in a 7-game series, we're going to need our backup PG to play well for us.

I think this game showed how bad that DMo injury was for Houston. Once Howard is fully ready it should get better, but right now their offense stalls when Harden doesn't have the ball in his hands since they don't have a second option with Howard restricted and DMo out. Relying on Josh Smith, Brewer and Ariza to create offense isn't gonna work for them.

Did you check who led the team on assists tonight? He had some big defensive efforts, and a couple of big steals. +16 when he was on the court. Remember when people were talking about how the Spurs were + a gazillion when Parker was off the floor, and - a gazillion when he was on the floor? (Somebody has that in their sig I think?) Who was running the offense then? CoJo has stepped up and he's playing good enough. Not only that, I still think that Patty is going to step up before it's over.
Much bigger to me is that Diaw has given them a post game that they were lacking, Tiago was playing A LOT more aggressively, and Baynes is putting in solid minutes in the blocks. It's the paint where the Spurs were getting killed. Not anymore.

So did everyone get the fear of houston thing out of their systems?
Spurs have at least 3 VERY good defenders to throw at Harden (thought COJo was great), and, well, Dwight just isn't the same after is the back injury. No Beverly & no Demo makes it just that much harder for them.

Motherfucking yes. I keep thinking about that shit after every goddamn game.
Correct me if I'm wrong.....
But that Sean comment you're talking about....didn't Dorsey overplay/cheat on Kawhi that possession. TP passed to Bobo....moved the ball...then Bobo found a wide open Banger for a dunk. Is a Banger dunk not a very high % shot?
BTW...I'm all for Kawhi getting it going. I love the guy....but you guys are never happy with Parker's play. Never. Just jump aboard the Spurs bandwagon....I've got a seat saved for you. You and robdiaz both. Both of you guys are my niggas....but this hating on Tony Parker every single play every single game is getting quite old.
There were several times he mentioned it and he's still talking about it in the postgame btw. He had 2-3 FGAs midway through the 2nd Qtr...Spurs won so can't complain too much but that's way too low for a guy that's been on such a tear tbh.

Houston can still do a lot of damage. Playing them without homecourt may not spell an automatic series loss, but it would certainly tire the Spurs out.
The real concern about the Rox right now is that they have a game in their house separating the Spurs from a 2 or 3 seed.

It was more frustrating in the first half since the team was down for a good portion of it. I think in the second half he got his touches and the team looked like a juggernaut again.

You just come off as salty. You cannot stand TP having a good game at the expense of Kawhi.
It's like if TP has a great playoffs and the Spurs win the title....you would somehow be upset that "Kawhi's limelight" has somehow been diminished...and you wouldn't have the "I told you so" card in your back pocket. And the Rockets were on fire in the 1st Q....everything they threw up went in. That's somehow Parker's fault? Actually without TP in the 1st Q....we would have been down by 15+.
I'm all for calling TP out on his more than awful play for most of this year. He deserves it just like every other Spurs player would. Nobody here is above criticism...but on nights like tonight...the Krew needs to tip the ole cap and say good game Enrique. Good game Porker....
Jesus Christ....the guy shot over 70% tonight. That's who you want shooting the ball.....right? If Kawhi didn't miss his first 3 shots (correct me if I'm wrong on that) I'm sure the gameplan would have changed drastically.

The krew exhibits a level of absurdity that is unparalleled. We've almost started getting used to it because their hatred of Parker is so over the top. But just sit back and think about this for a minute. Tony Parker just dropped 27 points on 13/18 shooting in 26 minutes of play to lead us to one of the most critical wins of the season. And on the defensive end, no one went off on him. And these guys still nitpcick the exact timing of every one of his shots, the fact that although he did share the ball with Kawhi it wasn't at the exact right moments, the fact that other squads had runs of their own (thereby "proving" that Parker is totally useless and completely expendable), etc, etc, etc. The standards they hold Parker to have arguably never been achieved by any basketball player in any game ever. When Parker scores with unbelievable efficiency, they criticize his assists. When he shares the ball more and shoots less, they call him expendable and attribute the system. When he does both, they try and point out the flaws in the defense. When he does it against a good defensive team, they say it was just a regular season game. These guys will never ever give Tony one single benefit of the doubt. It just won't happen. We just need to understand how outrageous their agenda is (not sure what Parker ever did to them, but it must have been bad). The rest of us can discuss the game rationally and give credit where credit was due...tonight to Parker, Kawhi, Cojo, and most of the rest of the team.
If you ever want a break from the absurdity, just read the headlines or step out of ST for a minute:
SAN ANTONIO -- Tony Parker scored 27 points and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Houston Rockets 110-98 on Wednesday night for their ninth straight victory.
It's not that difficult to see, but sometimes I hear enough of Rob or Malik or daboom or Apo to almost start believing that, "wait a minute, maybe Tony really did have a bad game."

the problem is you faggot give parker all the credit when we win but when we lose it was the teams fault. stop being bitches and admit that he has been shitting the bed lately. this is his first complete game in a while.

Bro, Kawhi is becoming our go-to player. He's been the best player on the team this season and I give him credit all the time. Same with Duncan and Manu and the rest of the squad. But usually I don't get to do that enough because I feel like responding to the misinformation and ridiculous takes/standards that you guys put out for Tony takes precedence. Maybe I should just ignore it more and move on, but a lot of times people begin to believe it. Like I said, sometimes I myself begin to believe it because you guys throw so much out there. I begin to ask myself, "well there are like 4 or 5 guys here literally saying Tony was a hindrance to the team tonight...maybe they have a point. His efficiency was amazing, his +/- was good, his defense wasn't bad, he distributed, ... but maybe I'm missing something. Maybe he was a detriment to the team."

What's up with that anchor guy on Sportscenter? He said Pop's act with interviewers gets old and he just said he doesn't like the Spurs but he respects them. Who knew these drones were supposed to have opinions.

Ahhh ok. :tu I thought he was some bitter Lakers or Heat fan.
The replay of the game is on, and I stopped to watch a few minutes of it. Third quarter, about 5 minutes left. Kawhi took the ball at the elbow, with Ariza on him. Jabbed - Ariza didn't bite. Pump-faked a 3 - Ariza didn't bite. So Kawhi put the ball on the floor, and backed Ariza all the way into the paint. There was help behind Ariza, and Kawhi clearly didn't like what he saw, so he just sort of dumped the ball back on Tony. Parker weaved his ways through the big trees, and flipped up a floater from about the restricted circle. Kawhi got his touch... he just gave it up. If I watched the whole game, I know that there were more possessions like that one.
Fourth quarter - Kawhi gets a steal and takes off in transition, with only Brewer in front of him. Normally Kawhi is coast-to-coast on that play. Instead, he peels off at the 3P line. Then CoJo gets wide open at near the basket, and Kawhi doesn't see him, or just decides not to pass. Finally, Green is trailing, and Kawhi pitches it to him at the 3P line, and Danny nails it. It worked out okay. But Kawhi should have taken it all the way himself, or at least passed to Joseph for the gimme at the basket.
What I'm seeing is that Kawhi's lack of shots wasn't all because Parker wouldn't give him the ball. Kawhi passed on some shots he would normally take, and Parker took what the defense was offering. All I'm seeing is good basketball here.

Whatever it takes to win.
The posters mentioned below... a win is not satisfactory, if Parker is given too much credit or plays a critical role.
Its pretty obvious a few are the same poster. And I personally think it's probably off the court stuff. The fact that some women find Parker very attractive. It's too bizzare an obsession to be only a basketball problem. Hispanic fruits jealous of the French guy wearing more cologne than they do?
Put rob the knob and FckLa in this category as well.

Personally I don't like us to have to rely on Parker this much.
But he has been a huge spark.
Is it not strange Malik, DaBoom, apoplectic are all missing...

Until Saturday I'm at the palazzo
My friend and I will be watching the game at the Wildfire Casino on Boulder Highway. It's a ways off from Vegas all the way out to Henderson (30 minute taxi), but if you want you're welcome to join us. If you stay in Vegas, I'd recommend the Caesar's Palace Sportsbook. Best in the city, I think.
